The Meaning of Perseverance
Perseverance is a very important and positive character trait in someone's life. It means having a steady persistence in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. A successful person is not afraid to do his best to what are small jobs. If all the little jobs are done well, the big ones seem much easier to accomplish. You can't go through life quitting everything, if you're going to achieve anything you've got to stick with it. Failure happens only when you quit and stop trying to reach your goals and purposes in life. A person must always have faith and hope in himself, I also think it has to do with being a good Christian and strongly believe in God.

Perseverance is reached also by when a person is independent and takes responsibility for him. Being optimistic and having self-confidence help to reach your goals and purposes. Think about what you can do, not what you can't do. It also helps to learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. I personally believe that a person should have a good role model who has a huge affect on someone's life in a positive way, a good role model having good characters like always striving for excellence and success. Don't quit. Success arrives for every person who perseveres and follows his dreams.

Have patience with all things, but mot importantly have patience with yourself. Don't lose courage in you negatives, but think about improving them. You have to find a way to accomplish a goal, or you have to make one. You have to wake up with determination if you want to go to sleep with satisfaction. I also think that when you start a task, it is always too soon to quit. Every little step gets you closer to where you're going. Don't turn back when you're almost done accomplishing a goal.

Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another. You might have to fight a battle more than once to win it. Big shots are little shots that keep shooting. Try and fail, but don't fail to try. Winners are losers who got up and gave it one more try.

She was afraid of speaking in front of a large group of people, so she used perseverance to help her control her decisions. While Buck and Gram are different, they were both afraid at one point and both beat a fear they had. Both Gram and Buck had to experience something new, whether it was fighting with another dog or going to college and talking in front of people.…

One example in which took a lot of perseverance from my father is when he moved all the way from California to Kansas. My father had to change houses and have a new community to live in. It was hard, but he tried to stay strong with all the new challenges/ struggles coming his way. His everyday life had just completely changed. In addition to the first example, my father had to go to a new school. This was a very hard thing to change schools and took a lot of confidence. My father had witnessed many things at his new school. His everyday life had changed, but with his opened minded and social qualities he knew he could get through it. Eventually, his new school taught him that change isn't always so bad. Another thing to remember and example of perseverance is that my father had trouble making new friends. To make more friends, my father had joined a basketball team where he could get out and be active. Also, he tried being as talkative as possible. This happened in 3rd grade, my father was obviously young, so he thought he couldn't make any new friends. Furthermore, you can see that my father went through a tough time and had to make many changes in order to persevere in his…

Perseverance is one of the main skill I have gained through my participation in Squaw Valley Snow Sports. Ski racing, as a whole, is filled with high and low moments, and I believe without the low moments one wouldn't appreciate the glorious highs. I apply this perspective throughout my whole life and use it to motivate myself to be a better student, athlete, and whole person. I am currently recovering from ACL surgery, and I am fairly positive that without SVSS I wouldnt not be as dedicated to returning to snow as strong as possible.…

A situation where I showed grit and persevered was when I made the decision to attend college. College for me was a huge step towards my future. If I made a choice I wanted to stick with it, being in this situation made me question myself many times if I was making the right choice. Going to college made me feel that I was ready to take anything that came at me. Many people told me that college was challenging, but what they did not know is that I love challenges. I told myself maybe college is not for me, so I decided the change my thinking strategy. I made the habit of saying a positive statement after a negative statement. For example, one day I told myself that I would not be able to survive college, a moment later I told myself if you can survive high school, you can survive college. I knew college was not going to…
