The Life You Own Character Analysis
“Break Forth and wash the slime from this earth!” Mr. Shiftlet needs to take the advice for himself. Trust is a relationship whereby property is held by one party for the benefit of another. We may come across people we just can’t trust. The character development in the short story “The Life You Save May be Your Own” by Flannery O'Connor reveals that trust should be earned.
O'Connor uses colors and physical description to show the innocence and fragility of the daughter. White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection. White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. O’Connor uses white to describe the daughter “Lucynell was dressed up in a white dress. ”O’Connor states
