The Last Duchess Analysis
Light shone through the window and glared in my eyes, making objects in the distance only look like silhouettes. I could make out a grey lining that was on the horizon. “My Lady, if you keep looking out into the sun you will hurt your eyes.”
“No need for concern, I was just looking at the clouds in the distance.”
“Shall we start the embroidery my Lady?”
“Yes,” I responded while sitting down.

I put the fabric down when most of the intricate patterns were finished. “Is everything alright my Lady?” The room darkened when gloomy clouds covered the sun.
“What happened to the last Duchess?” She lowered her eyes to the ground and clutched her embroidery to avoid looking into my eyes. “Would you like something to eat Duchess, we have been here a while.”

The portrait is very beautiful”
“That portrait is for only me to look at, no one else is permitted, don’t do it again.”
“What happened to her?”
“She died two months ago from an unknown illness,” sweat collected on his brow, as he straightened his jerkin he turned towards me and looked at the broken sculpture in distaste. “I have matters elsewhere, meet back with your attendant.”

I continued making my way towards the west side of the Castello Ferrara ignoring the orders from Alfonso, nothing would stop me from finding out the truth of the Duke’s past experience with his Duchess, I walked towards the end of the corridor. The door to the dungeons was wooden with steel reinforcements, watched over by a guard. “Let me into the dungeons,” I ordered.
“I’m sorry Duchess, Duke Alfonso has given me strict orders to allow no one in the dungeon that he has not given permission to enter”
“I am the Duchess of Ferrara, I order you to let me

Smells of bodily waste hung in the air as I walked towards the first barred wall, I shown the light into the shackled man’s eyes, “do you know anything about the last Duchess of Ferrara,” the man had little to no response. I heard footsteps of someone pacing in the cell next to the first one, a hand stuck out penetrating the gloom and signalled to come over. As I slowly walked towards the second cell the person’s face came into view, it was the same face that was in the portrait, still recognisable even with tattered clothing and ghostly pale skin, “you’re meant to be dead, how are you

I chose to do my audience analysis on Philippa Gregory’s books The White Princess. The book is a historical fiction book based on the lives of King Henry the 7th and Elizabeth of York. The primary audience for this book is for people who are interesting about the history and the people of the British monarchy. The reason that I believe that this is the primary audience for this book is because most people do not want to learn about Elizabeth of York unless they are interested in her and her life. Another reason that I think that this is the primary audience is because this book follows the history and issues that were going on during that time. People that would want to read this book are people that are interested about the royals back then and what happened in their lives and the issue and threats that they were facing at the time. For example, the book talks about how King Henry the 7th had issues with people pretending to be one Elizabeth’s brothers who were killed in the tower. A few young men came forward during that time and pretended that they were one of the brothers…

Robert Browning’s “ My last Duchess,” is not a romantic love story about the sudden death of a Duke’s wife. Instead it’s about an insecure and psychotic Duke who feels entitled to everything including his wife and kills her. Browning explores the mind of a lunatic and presenting his audience how men with power can basically get away with almost anything. he analyses issues of feminism, domestic violence, and a disorderly structure of Victorian society through his work in “My Last Duchess.”…

He said, “You don’t want to?” I answered, “No.” He was quiet, and then I was embarrassed because I felt I shouldn’t have said that. He looked at me and then asked, “Why not?” but without criticizing, as if he just wanted to know. I said, “I don’t know.” (Camus 6)…

Act 4, Scene 2 may be one of the most dramatic and deathly scene in the play, having to deal with the death of our main protagonist the Duchess and her child, and as well as Bosolo’s switch of sides because of his morality and free reign of choice. It also deals with themes of duty, morality and ethics. The language used in this scene can also be graphic, and horrific as they swiftly execute them with no second thought. And the comparisons of the Duchess and her maid of accepting death and being brave, versus begging for life and the typical womanly response to death found in literary form. The scene begins with the Duchess still being imprisoned from the last act, along with her maid Cariola.…

"You appear extremely curious about how hard my night was, Karmen. Is that because perhaps your night was even more frustrating? After all, I only spent one evening in that hick town, and although it caused some difficulties, I, um, resolved the problem by my own hand." Duke arched a brow, wondering if Karmen was aware what he alluded to, then comfortingly patted her arm. "However, you were stuck there a number of months without even so much as an appropriate male to fantasise over. How uncomfortable was your night? Since my interest in you is obviously not reciprocated, we'll need to locate an item to assist with that issue, along with new shoes." Duke grinned, then released his touch, and returned his focus to their…
