The Importance Of Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is a time to commemorate the members of armed forces who die for our freedom, honor, and peace. This day is commemorated on November 11th of every year, this holiday as such is time to remember the ending of World War 1 (WW1). We celebrate on November 11th because the peace treaties signed on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month.
There is also a specific symbol of Remembrance Day which is very familiar to many individuals, the poppy. The poppy became a symbol of remembrance due to the poem “In Flanders Field” written by John McCrae. After the professor Moina Michael, read the poem, she made a custom to wear a poppy on the anniversary, quickly this became a worldwide custom (for some), and these poppies symbolized
