Scott-Clayton makes many valid points here. The cost to attend college in terms of monetary value is outrageous. On average, 66% of college students graduate with debt from student loans. For many people repaying these loans will take all their life. There is also the possibility the college students could run out of money before completing college and must drop out. This is just monetary costs but as stated there are also psychological…

Over the course of years, thousands of people go to college straight after high school with the privilege of being able to afford it, while others who aren’t economically stable can’t. Another for difficult and less glamorous way of getting through college without student debt is duel enrolment, a program that allows students to be enrolled in two separate, academically related institutions. Most of the time it refers to high school students who have decided to take college classes. All states except for Alaska, New Hampshire, and New York have a statewide policy in place allowing high school students to enroll in state or community colleges. It allows qualified high school students to receive a scholarship for a specific amount of credits per semester, credits that can be transferred to different colleges and universities after they graduate high school. This way students can get credit for college classes so they may not…

High school graduates must confront the difficulties brought to their attention made by college. One of many questions that they have to find the answer to is how will I pay or get to college. Many colleges have scholarship opportunities, but not all scholarships will apply to them. This makes it unattainable for them to receive a scholarship for college or incoming college students might not know about types of scholarships. Countries like Germany and France are now offering free college to international students and local students, United States should provide free college for everyone and make sure it is well kept.…
If one looks at the data, the bigger problem is that many students don’t finish college. “Only about 55 percent of students graduate six years after starting,” Bob Luebke (a writer for the Civitas Institute.) The problem is not access but completion. So why do people drop out of college? For the most part, money is not the biggest problem; it’s usually factors like family issues, or transportation. Providing free tuition to institutions that graduate only a small amount over 50 percent of their students does not make economic sense. Also, if college tuition does become free for students, colleges will attract more young people who are not suited for college and will most likely drop out as well as more students that will major in fields with little or no market…

People who have potential and the knowledge to go to college and make a difference won't be able to do so if they don't have the money. In Europe, some colleges and top universities are free! People like Leonardo Da Vinci, attended colleges in Europe. People should all have equal opportunities and should be able to pursue their dreams. If colleges were free, who knows what the world might have invented today. Maybe a cure for cancer? Or a new object that can better our daily lives. But we won't know since colleges are not…

The college tuition is a common issue in the most families on the entire world. Many people care too much about the college cost after their kids’ graduation or their whole life for saving to the college tuition. The cost of tuition is out of control despite the enormous endowments that colleges are enjoying while others suffered to earn. I think college tuition has to be free, moreover, many good students that cannot afford the college tuition have the rights to study, and to have opportunity to accomplish their goals regardless of their family situation or their low income. So I believe that kids should be treated fairly and go to college. Many kids are very smart, but they don’t have money for an education.…

These give me the opportunity to be able to attend a university of my choice. My parent not having to worry about funding my brother college tuition gives them the time to be able to work and plan my college fund and the last two year of my brother education. The expense of higher education keeps increasing as time goes by, which encourage many students to abandon the thought of college. These discouragements…
