The Importance Of Food Insecurity In The United States

Public awareness about the prevalence of food insecurity in the United States is slowly increasing. However, the University of California, who had concerns that there is an unidentified issue of food insecurity among college and university students. Due to the lack of about the food security status of college students and their access to food, the University of California conducted a study to determine the food security status of its students. In the spring of 2015, the University sent out two online surveys randomly to 66,000 students from 10 different campuses. Only about 14 percent of the students completed the survey.
