A is for John Adams. He was one of the members of the Committee of Five and the First and Second Continental Congress. He, along with John Jay and Benjamin Franklin also helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris (1783), which officially ended hostilities between America and Britain. This was significant because it ended the war, and America won independence.

B is for Battle of Bunker Hill. This was one of the major battles in the American Revolution. Here, the British fought three times, finally winning on the last one. This is important because it demonstrated that inexperienced militia were able to stand up to regular army troops in battle. The battle discouraged the British from anymore frontal attacks.
England is the country the American colonies were fighting against. This was also where King George lll resided. This is significant because if it was not for England, there would not have been a war.

F is for Freedom. Freedom is the main reason the Patriots are fighting the American Revolution. This is important because their strong passion for freedom helped them win the war.

G is for Guerilla Warfare. This was one of the fighting techniques used in the awr by many soldiers led by Francis Marion. This was significant because this “hit-and-run” technique was a huge contributor to the victory of the Patriots.

H is for Hudson River. The Hudson River is located in New York. This geographical feature was important to the American Revolution because during the Battle of Saratoga, the British planned a three-pronged attack to take control of the Hudson River. This would cut off the New England Colonies from the rest of the colonies creating havoc.

I is for Inflation. Inflation is a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money. This was significant because in the Revolutionary War, the Americans started printing money and silver and gold lost their

This is significant because it was a time of hardship for the colonies, but yet some soldiers stood strong to their desire for freedom.

W is for Martha Washington. Martha Washington was George Washington’s wife and closest advisor. She also travelled to and from Valley Forge with her husband becoming the “hostess” of the encampment.

X is for Xmas Night. Xmas Night was when Washington crossed the Delaware River to reach the Battle of Trenton. This is important because this day will be remembered because it was one of the most logistically challenging and dangerous operation the Patriots were ever to
