The Illuminati

"Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it (Woodrow Wilson, The New Freedom 1913). As Woodrow explains the secrecy and power that are near and can be felt is in reference to the Illuminati. The Illuminati are a secret and powerful society that date back as far as 1771. It was said that the members and the rule was ended in 1785. However with so many secrets surrounding the members the rumors that surface keep it alive and breathing as well. The mystery and clouds that follow this society will be shown in this paper that they truly are all seeing and all knowing and that they reach all over the word. Hopefully this will shed some light onto a dark corner involving their background, how the media uses the “illuminati” in today’s pop culture to make people believe, and exposing the secrets sounding the projects and members.

The first mention of the word Illuminati began in 1776 by a man named Adam Weishaupt. At that time, the Illuminati actually went by the name of the "Perfectibility.” It included 5 original members and Adam was the head of this large group of men who seek enlightment. They have managed to gain a few other names as well, for example, the Freemasons, Masons, Illuminatus, and New World Order. The “true,” if that can be said, Illuminati ended around 1785. It is believed that the Illuminati are still functioning in society and are trying to create a one-world government, so that they can take over all of its nations. According to the article, “What is the Illuminati Conspiracy?” the Illuminati is supposedly conducted of a private selection of chosen people working in the United Nations, the World Bank, and the International Criminal Courts. If this

I find the religion in the Popular Culture of the greatest interest to me. Popular culture according to one definition reaches a larger audience. When popular culture uses the images of religion to portray a message I see the message as more of a counterfeit intended to deceive the world and ultimately take the place of God. Subliminal messages our powerful and that is how I see religion when it is used in popular culture. I have much talk on-line about several famous celebrities being associated with the " Illuminati". The Illuminati enthusiasts seem to agree it is a modern-day secret society with ancient roots that is made of up powerful and elite individuals who conspire to control the world — politics, government, religion, entertainment…

Wrapped in mystery and intrigue, the Knights Templar stand out from the pages of history as the keepers of Catholicism’s greatest, most dangerous secrets. In legend, the Knights are known as the guardians of the Holy Grail, the Arc of the Covenant, and other Holy relics. Historically, they are remembered as the “Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon,” the disciplined guardians to Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land. Although the order is one of the most intriguing secret societies, the literature written on the Templars is minute and thus it is one of the least understood societies in history. Sadly, the order’s important contributions to history are so vastly overshadowed by scandal and intrigue that fact and fiction have become “so intertwined that extracting a pristine truth is almost impossible" (Macintyre 1). The information that is known, however, proves that the order’s significance is far greater than the persistent legends that encompass the popular perceptions of the Knights Templar.…
