* Students are expected to read the novel assigned to their appropriate grade. In addition to the reading, students are required to respond in short-answer format to a set of study questions specific to that book, and use citations when applicable. Teachers will integrate the summer reading and responses to study questions into the beginning of the course, so students should bring their book and responses to class when they begin in August. Furthermore, students should expect some form of assessment on the book—test or essay—during the first week of class.
The Hobbit There is a word doc. and printed copy of the study guide on the 7th grade website** under Language Arts tab, in the front office or in Mrs. Jorgenson’s room 402.
The study guide will be due on the first day of school. We will briefly go over the important themes and concepts in the novel and there will be an exam. Students should have read and be prepared for the exam at the start of school.
