What was the Great Sphinx? The Great Sphinx also called the “Father of Terrors.” Is one of the most important statues in Ancient Egypt. It was built about 5,000 years ago.Now the Sphinx’s head is a portrait of King Khafre. So how big is the Great Sphinx?, you might ask. The Great Sphinx is approximately 172 feet long and 66 feet tall. The egyptians maid a riddle for the Great Sphinx, here it is” what animal walks on four feet in the morning, two at noon, and 3 at night.”The answer is the man (human). The Great Sphinx is one of the most greatest statues in world history.
