I genuinely did not expect to learn this much from the book Unbroken. The story of Louie Zamperini was unexpectedly much more understandable and relatable than I first imagined. Seeing the main character was a former war hero, I found it surprising I was able to connect to him as I happen to be fourteen. In my opinion, readers can easily compare similar situations in their life, regardless of their age. A point often overlooked, Louie is a true survivor. He was stranded forty-seven days on a crammed raft, as well as beaten without remorse at a prison camp for two years. Louie was stripped of his friends as he watched them either be transferred or slowly die. He witnessed many accounts of sexual abuse to innocent and helpless animals, as well…

The Fahrenheit 451 symbol I created is an atomic bomb with the tail of a book. This represents Montag because he spread knowledge and the importance of books to the society and it ended with the fall of the city. He knew the power of books and people hated him for it. The background is perfect blue skies with clouds because it shows how shielded from the truth people were in the society by the government. they don't even know anything about neighboring cities. “And across the world, thought Montag, how many other cities dead? And here in our country, how many? A hundred, a thousand?” (155) Everyone thought everything was okay and just another war until suddenly the bomb came and decimated everything around them and the intellectuals and montage…

Fallen Angels, a story about a soldier experiencing the Vietnam War, has a relatable story do to the conflicts many of the characters faced. Perry, a Vietnam Soldier, had those impositions and there are reasons why they are problematic. One of those issues was when after Jenkins was dead, Perry was in shock of what happened while the other soldiers take care of the body as usual. In the story, the army was heading there way to fight off the enemy in Vietnam until Jenkins stepped on a landmine that killed him, so the other soldiers placed the corpse in the bag, and Sergeant Simpson and Lieutenant Carroll use the body bag as a stool for their feet as everyone went back to the hooch angering Perry. Eddie remembers how he would spend each of his birthdays with Marguerite. The narrator says “Taffy. He thinks about taffy. He thinks it would take his teeth out now,but he would eat it anyhow, if it meant eating it with her” (Albom 184). What Eddie is really thinking about is the time that he spent with Marguerite before she passed away and how much he had enjoyed every second with her. In “Thanatopsis” by William Cullen Bryant he states “Thou shalt lie down with the kings of the infant world” (Bryant 33-34). This line reflects on how we will all be united when we die so that people can make up for lost time on earth. “Thanatopsis” nostalgic view promotes the idea that all people will be reunited. In The Five People You Meet in Heaven , however the nostalgia stems from deep memories that provide an idea of the sacrifice needed to be reunited with those who have passed…
