The Effects Of Bottled Water On The Environment

It is reasonable for people not to buy plastic water bottles. To begin, plastics water bottles are creating concern as to whether or not they are harming the environment. Burt Macklin proved they are hurting the environment when he mentioned “Tens of billions of bottles end up in the trash each year.” When bottles end up in the trash they stay in landfills for many years and don’t decompose. Therefore, they begin to create issues with the environment. Not only are plastic water bottles harmful for the environment, they are harmful to one’s health, too. “Bottled water may lack fluoride, a mineral that helps prevent tooth decay” (Macklin). This quote is explaining how tap water has a beneficial mineral in it that bottled water usually doesn’t.
