The Concept of the Aesthetic
From the very birth of civilization man has been on his onward quest for knowing the hidden traits of nature .In fact he got at first awed by the very qualities of it and then he tried to reason out the secret behind such a happening. The same holds true for CLOUD.

In fact I would like to tackle this topic at first from purely aesthetic view point .If we turn back the pages of history we will find various bards independent of language and topographic barriers churning out exquisite pieces in praise of that apparently looming shadow of ominous doom. Such an ironic treatment was possible since the unparalled beauty that man was privileged to witness nullified the awe .Our very own Kalidas regarded cloud as a messenger to communicate his message. Sheer beauty of that hovering canopy has also bewitched the modern poets. Various idioms also developed from the mystical value of cloud like “Every cloud has a silver lining” .The discussion hitherto zeros in on the fact that there is more of aesthetic value attached to cloud than its original face value. But is it so? Let us consider the other viewpoint

Scientists have however considered this trait of nature from purely practical viewpoint. According to characteristics they have classified clouds into various categories like---cirrostratus, cirrocumulus etc. They have viewed potential dangers as well as welcome relief in clouds. Some of them are signs of storms some are ominous signs of deluge, yet some are welcome relief to long spells of scorchy summer .So clouds no doubt attract attention of a genre of people. Like wise the concepts of cloud being the object of awe reverence as well as curiosity has been haunting man still now.

From the above discussion it can be safely inferred that the concept needs farther research and discussion. But it should be dealt with from both physical and metaphysical viewpoint. Let us then pull up our socks and get started. Let the onward march of civilization fly across the sky of

A song’s cheerful and upbeat structure can greatly contrast the message a song attempts to convey. Take Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” for example. “Variations on a Cloud” shares the same makeup. Both songs portray a disaster hidden behind a façade of well-being, usually hiding right under our noses. ミラクルミュージカル (Miracle Musical) has done just that, only more head-on.…

Watch for clouds closing under you,” (Hayden 12-16) the speaker scares the pilot or reader so that the reader knows exactly what he or she is getting into. When the reader says, ‘read a cloud’ which basically translates to use caution due to the fact that their is potential danger. When the speaker mentions: “chilly mass can shift, flood to light.” (15-16) the speaker is using imagery in order to help the reader understand what she means. Hayden is trying to show the underestimated power of the weather. The cloud, or dense chilly mass, can change flood to light. This means the cloud can change the weather from a storm to sunshine. Again, trying to illustrate the potential dangers of…

My research essay is based on esthetics and what I have researched about this career in the esthetics industry. The job outlook for estheticians and skin care specialists is very good. The BLS states that job outlook projections through the year 2014 for esthetcians is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations. There are so many different job opportunities for both veteran and newly licensed estheticians. Salons and spas are a great place to start off as an esthectician. And of course there are also dermatologists' offices and other medical settings in which an esthetician could work. Not to mention, you could go into business for yourself and independently provide esthetics and skin care services to your own client base. Earnings for estheticians vary depending on location, how well-established the esthetician is, and the clientele. Part of their income is based on tips from clients. Full-time estheticians who are beginning their careers often earn between $18,000 and $25,000 a year, depending on where they work and the number of referrals they receive. Once established, estheticians can earn over $40,000 a year if they have a strong client base and a solid reputation. Estheticians who have their own businesses can earn more than this, but they have to spend a lot of money on start-up costs, including the cost of equipment and skin care products. They must also cover ongoing business expenses, including paying for rent and supplies. The average esthetician, or skin care specialist, earned $24,010 in the year 2004. An esthectician can start off as a trainee and work their way up to a esthectician who owns their own salon. A trainee earns about 25,000 a year. The requirements for a trainee are to complete an esthectician program is to have a warm personality and the ability to make clients feel good and manual dexterity. The responsibilities of trainee are doing manicures, pedicures and Waxing. After starting off…

Landscapes can be found in every area of the world, ranging from icy landscapes of Polar Regions, mountainous landscapes, vast desert landscapes, islands and coastal landscapes, densely forested landscapes and even tropical rainforests. All landscapes are divided most commonly into natural elements or urban figurations; almost always is the sky included in any type of landscape work though. The composition of the sky in landscapes is often accompanied by the weather element of the piece too, showing whether the piece is set in harsh weather or not, naturally setting a mood. The mood of a landscapes background sets the tone for the rest of the piece, whether people feel uplifted or almost depressed by the weather effects. In most cases, natural landscapes give off a relaxed, peaceful mood while urban landscapes have this expected busy, never ending feel. Any type of landscape painting tries to show how the landscape feels, opposed to describing it, as visually seeing a piece allows the audience to lose themselves in it and sets their mood, based on the paintings. Landscapes are also used to show the overall business or relaxing element of what would often be seen as a background if people were included. Human-like figures can be found in some landscapes but the focus of the piece will always be on the landscape itself, whether it’s natural or urban-based.…

    Keates vs. Blake

The nature imagery in Blake's "Introduction" is that nature is wild and unpredictable. The story tells of a piper playing happily on his pipe in the valley wild. The word wild implies an untamed place. The words valleys wild and pleasant glee contradict each other. The child on the cloud also symbolizes nature as sublime: the innocent child on the rain cloud. The child demands of the piper to play him a song about a Lamb. Lamb is a reference to Jesus. The child weeps while the piper plays because he is thinking about how Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins. The piper went from playing his music for his own enjoyment to having to write it down for all to hear. The piper "pluck'd a hollow reed" to write with; according to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary, hollow means: "lacking in real value, sincerity or substance." Blake uses the term "rural pen", again indicating his country, or wild setting. The phrase "stain'd the water clear", implies there is something impure about his writing down the words to his song. Perhaps he would rather keep his beautiful music to himself and is unwilling to share it with the rest of the world. Although Blake has references to nature, they are unclear and leave us wondering what his true feelings about nature are.…

“I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” is a very descriptive poem about nature and how it connects to his feelings, which allows the readers to imagine what he is feeling through nature. In “I Wandered Lonely as a cloud Wordsworth states directly how he is feeling: “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud. That floats on high o'er vales and hills.” Wordsworth describes what he sees as he is wandering. Wordsworth is describing many things in these two lines. He is describing his feelings, the weather, his homeland, and an upcoming storm. He is connecting all of these things about nature to his emotions at that moment. Wordsworth states, “A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company:”, which means he is not a happy person but as he is wandering, he can’t help but feel joy with all the beautiful nature around him.”I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” is beautiful written poem…

It is what surrounds us in everyday, all the time. Because of this, it only makes sense that it becomes enticing material for writers of all shapes and sizes. Whitman and Dickinson prove this to be true. One commonality that these two poets have is that they use nature as description. For example, in Whitman's "Song of Myself" 52 he references to a spotted hawk, and in a more literal spot, he places the set for his poem "Song of Myself" 10 in the wilds and the mountains. Part of the reasons Whitman used nature so much, is that he was very into the pioneer spirit and the Old West. Furthermore, Emily Dickinson uses nature in a very metaphorical way. In "Apparently with no surprise" she talks of happy flowers and the frost beheading it. She puts flower in the place of people or a person in that specific example. The way that these writers use nature relative to all life strikes me because they show how everything is intertwined in life, not just nature and people, but…

    Aesthetic Analysis

Aesthetics is the branch of philosophy that asks questions about the nature of art and beauty. The Classical definition of art is the good, the true, the beautiful. Art equals something that is beautiful then it is true and leads the person experiencing it, to the good. While this may be the classical definition of art it is not quite accurate. To think that something is true and good just because it is beautiful is not right. There are three critiques of this definition which define art in a different light. Leo Tolstoy defines one as romantic art; “The essence of a work of art is the emotion it causes to an audience.” It makes everyone feel as one because they are all feeling the same emotion. Malcolm Bradbury defines modern art as a construction of reality, imitation of real world based on the nature of fiction. He states that art has something to teach. Frank Stella brings to the table the definition of post-modern art; “The aim of art is to create space.” Stella states that attractive and teachings of art are compromised since they are propagandistic and art should be neither. It should be an art space which is distinct from the real world, a refuge, a sanctuary, it creates space where objects can exist and the subjects of paintings can live. When you look at all of these different definitions of art it seems to be hard to choose only one to define art, because you can find truth in all the definitions. Art simply stated is a piece, a picture or a scene that can move you to emotion, can teach you what it is saying and what it is all about and it is something that is real.…
