In the story, The Christmas Hunt, by Borden Deal the author´s theme is, that there are reasons for rules. We first see the theme when Papa tells the character that he cannot go on the christmas hunt. The theme develops when the main character shoots Calypso Baby. The theme is shown in the end if the story when Papa tells the main character why there are rules.
