The Centralization Of Lady Macbeth By William Shakespeare

My piece centralizes on Lady Macbeth's face. The face shows only eyes and no other features, this is for good reason. Lady Macbeth struggles throughout the play "Macbeth" with not being able to find rest and sleep. I wanted to draw attention straight to her eyes which outwardly show rest and peace. On the left I have her eye closed to symbolize her sleeping, to make sense of this, I chose to include stars in the background. Stars are something everyone can associate with the night and further, with sleep. I purposefully chose to put this restful state on the left side. We read a book left to right and Lady Macbeth's issues with sleep started as we read further into the play. Like beginning to end. In the beginning of "Macbeth," Lady Macbeth could sleep
The eye is also wide open and staring straight ahead. This symbolizes her lack of sleep and possible madness. In the background is blood, blood is the reason why she cannot sleep and is going mad. Throughout "Macbeth," countless people are murdered by Macbeth and this all falls back on Lady Macbeth who first convinced him to go forward in killing their first victim, former King, Duncan. Macbeth went on to kill many other men, women, and children. This resulted in a lot of blood on both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's hands. To symbolize this, I included her hands. From the position of the fingers, I showed that the hands were crossed on her chest, how they would be placed during burial. At the end of the play, Lady Macbeth dies with the "blood" of the victims on her hands. I wanted to include this bloody hand because of the importance of the scene in which Lady Macbeth's struggles with her lack of sleep is shown. In her sleep-deprived state, she attempts to wash the blood off her hands while speaking of the victims. She was never successful in this which, we can conclude, drove her to her
