The Advantages Of Being A Minority In College
Being Hispanic means being a minority in this country who has to compete against other races who are seen as better. As a Hispanic I am compelled to work twice as hard to prove myself and others that I am capable to do the best I possibly can. Several people do not have the advantage we do of being bilingual. People see statistics where there is a miniature percentage of Hispanics in college and automatically believe we do not want to better ourselves but we aspire to make our parents proud. By going to college and receiving a master’s degree I will be able to demonstrate those younger than me that it is possible for us to exceed. We normally feel discouraged by others whose parents went to college and seem to know more but it should not be
