Teenagers Ahead

A difficult problem is happen when teenagers are driving. Driving age should not be lowered because teenagers are irresponsible when they are driving. Teenagers do not worry about the risk that they could suffer while they do no follow the law. Therefore, if driving age is lowered, teenagers could be expose a danger situations. Even though some believe that driving age should be lowered, I believe that it should not be lowered for three reasons. My first reason that I am an opponent of driving age should be lowered is teenagers are irresponsible. Teenagers do not follow the laws when they are driving. For example, my cousin is 16 years old, and she never makes the stop correctly on each intersection. In contrast, my brother is 20 years old, and he always pays attention on every traffic signal. Also, teenagers do not drive at the correct speed limit. They like to be the first car on the street, so they do not worry about the speed limit on the road. All in all, teenagers are irresponsible when they are driving. Another reason why I am against is teenagers are inattentive. Teenagers do not pay attention on the traffic signals because they have another things to do while they are driving. For instance, my youngest friend had an accident last year because he passed the red light on while he was texting with his girlfriend. In addition, when teenagers are driving under the influence of alcohol, they do not care about the laws. For example, my friend Karla was driving under the influence of alcohol, and she had a serious accident that puts her in a comma for 15 months. Clearly, when teenagers are inattentive they will cause dangers accidents. Opponents maintain that driving age should be lowered. They say that teenagers at 14 years old are responsible, and they do not get distracted easily. However, I believe that driving age should not be lowered because they get distracted easily. For instances, if a teenager is driving with her or his

After reading Quindlen’s argumentative persuasive essay called “Driving To The Funeral”, it was clear that she was against the driving age being 17. On the other hand, I believe the driving age should stay at 17. While I do drive and consider myself to be a very safe driver, not every teenager is. Of course one could say that we’re all attached to our cellphones by the hip and can't even put it down while driving, but that's not always the case. Personally I don't use my phone as I'm driving, but others do, and it's not always teenagers. There will always be bad drivers out on the road, and some may be newer drivers. Nonetheless, everyone older should not be considered “perfect drivers”…

As a parent, do you really want to put your child at risk of death because of the lack of driving skills? Or even as a teenager, do you want to end your life early because you don’t know the proper rules of the road? I don’t think a teenagers life should ever be in danger because they aren’t sure how to do a correct left turn going into oncoming traffic, or how to yield at a yield sign. The driving age should be raised to eighteen so teens are more responsible, mature, and ready to take on a very dangerous task that they will continue doing the rest of their life.…

Lowering the driving age would minimise the amount of stress that is put on parents and the young adult, as there is so much stress on parents, as they are having to get everyone to everywhere on time, but also get themselves to places on time. Which does not allow time for a parent to have time for themselves (especially for a parent whom parents alone). For the adolescent who is not relying on others, will make them have more responsibilities and can be taken more accountable for their own action in…

On this personal issue i do not agree with changing the minimum driving age. Many teens look forward to getting to drive. It wouldn't be the right thing to do. No i don't think the minimum driving age should be changed. If are legislature changed the minimum driving age we would have to have a lot more transportation for schools. Students wouldn't be aloud to drive to school. If are legislature changed the driving age they would be taking away the only freedom they have. It would also be hard for parents to get there kids from after school activity's. Some parents need there kids to be able to run places for them lick picking up siblings. They also may need them to go to the store to pick things up for them. They…

If someone's friend steals something, does the innocent friend go to jail? No. If a teen gets into a fatal accident, does another teen not involved get their license suspended? Of course not, but those who think the driving age should be raised are wanting this to happen. They are labeling all teens before they got into an accident or even before they got behind the wheel. They believe that because of someone's birth date, they are by definition dangerous (“Lund”). Teenage accident rates and mortality rates have increased dramatically over the years. Nothing that the parents do and law enforces will protect the teens all the time, especially from themselves. Teenagers do not realize the responsibility that comes with driving. They are often distracted with other things such as texting while driving. Most importantly, parents always worry about the safety of their kids on the road. Some people may say that the driving age should stay at the age of 16; however, raising the driving age to 18 will create safer and more responsible drivers. Firstly, teenagers are very careless. In addition, increasing the minimum driving age will allow teenagers more time to get comfortable with driving. Finally, the number of fatal accidents will be reduced. Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Some teenagers at the age of 16 are responsible. Some 16 year olds are irresponsible. Also, all 18 year olds are not responsible and able to drive the correct way. The state legislature should not raise the minimum age from 16 to 18 because some 16 year olds have a job and need transportation, a few may not like to depend on individuals to drive them back and forth, and many teenagers like to do their own things and not always with their parents.…

No amount of practice or freedom should matter when it comes to the lives of others. Driving is a serious matter and should be given to adults who are mature enough to handle driving. If teenagers took a step back and thought about the consequences of driving, they would understand that no one's life is worth a little bit more freedom. No parent should have to bury their child on account of the risk they took by getting behind the wheel. The driving age should be raised to save the millions of lives that could be lost…
