Tate Modern
Bankside
London SE1 9TG
United Kingdom

Dear Sir/Madame,

Let me first introduce myself. My name is Quintly Cicilia born on the 15 of october 1994. I have been a student of R.C for 5 years and I would really like to have the opportunity to work at Tate Modern museum.

After founding the advertisement in the newspaper Amigoe about Tate Modern Museum is looking for a volunteer that is fluent in English I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me. I would love to work there because at first i am obsessed with art and Tate Modern would be perfect to work there because it is a modern art gallery. And second it is close enough so that I could ride a bike or even walk to Tate Modern to work.

In the advertisement i read that the museum for room and board ensures makes use too. I personally think this is an excellent idea that Tate Modern came with because it has been perfect for the clients of this museum so that everyone can have there space to use.

Also i read that Tate Modern museum is in need of workers for all kind of activities such as security guard, explanations to visitors of this museum and for building a new exhibition. I would really like to be an explanations to visitors because I know a lot about the arts in this museum or i would like to be the builder of a new exhibition. Because like I said before i know a lot of this museum.

Personally I have two question that I really would like to get an answer from, first who really built the Tate Modern museum and how much is the Tate Modern museum worth it with all those arts in there.

Yours faithfully,
Q.Cicilia

Museums are a place where one can see a collection of rare pieces; it is a house of historical and valuable pieces of history. When I arrived at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the outside structure of the building was an architectural piece of art in itself. The walls are windows to the outside giving an 180 view bringing the outside in. When I got inside the museum and walked through the hallway of windows to the museum, I was taken into another era. The light and airy hallways were replaced with stone walls of a dark and mysterious until I see the courtyard full of lavish greenery.…

Museums bring history and culture to life by allowing individuals to gain unique hands on experience that is different from learning from textbooks or television. One can never know the reality behind certain artifacts and art until they see it for themselves. The perception of viewing a multitude of replicas and pictures such as the Mona Lisa can be dramatically different from witnessing the painting up close. The interactive experience allows one to engage and immerse ourselves back into time to learn about the truth of different cultures and traditions. The intent of museums is not purely to enthrall historians and scholars, but to create an environment which is welcoming to all individuals. While historians argue that museums…

When one goes to a Museum, it is easy to assume that they will go to the most famous and well known pieces that are showcased, look at them, and then be well on their way. Although Museums are a part of the spectacle, when looked at in the right context they can also enable to viewer to gain a new perspective. What better a place than to think “otherwise” than a museum? The setting upholds works of art that are categorized and characterized by certain attributes. But these institutions can also view the everyday in a new context – take a look at the Surrealists or the Stituationalists. In Museum Hours, by Jem Cohen addresses how people should look at art through a different lens, and how value legitimizes collections of art in museums.…

Mike introduced me to the museum due to the connection and significance that it has for him and his family. His family, being partially Jewish, was persecuted during the Holocaust by the German Nazi army. Going around the museum gave me insight on what his family endured in the concentration camps which most of the time, these places exceeded the carrying capacity. While we were going through the right side of the museum, there is a history wall of the rise and fall of fascism and birth of the Jewish Holocaust and how It affected the Jewish Nation. Also, on the wall were some pictures and descriptions about what took place at the time and the struggles the Jews faced during World War two. We noticed some names of the concentration camps in Europe marked on the…

Let’s start with the building style, or architecture, of the Museum. The Museum describes itself as an “Eclectic mixture of children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel.”. The Museum is built almost entirely out of recycled or repurposed architectural and industrial materials, including cranes, old bridges, a human-sized hamster wheel, a bank vault, and even an old school bus. That gives it an irregular personality with the unexpected always lurking around the next corner.…

On October 15th 2016, my family and I decided to visit the Baltimore Art Museum (BMA) which is located in the heart of Baltimore. I was fascinated with the diversity and beauty of the arts in this gallery. According to the Baltimore Art Museum website, ” Today the Museum boasts a collection of 95,000 works of art that range broadly in terms of geography, culture, chronology, and medium”(Baltimore Art Museum). The museum is housed in a massive building which consists of three floors. Each floor contains many big halls devided into sections. The BMA has one of the most original and important collections of African art, contemporary art, modern art, Asian art, American and Native American art, European art, and the Antioch Mosaics. The Baltimore…

    Dallas Museum of Art

When I entered the building, I could feel an atmosphere that was rather calm yet lively at the same time. I decided to pick the Dallas Museum of Art because it has variety. The museum has works from various cultures and I enjoy looking at paintings more than anything else. This being my second time visiting the museum, I had more of a chance to enjoy all that was open to the public that I did not get to see when I first came with my fashion design class when I was a junior in high school. I never felt intimidated when I walked around in the museum, it felt very welcoming, clean, and secure. I like when museums have a sense of calm because it makes them museum appears more beautiful. And just like every museum, security is placed at different stations inside the building to protect the art and I think it is good that they are there because not everyone is capable of following the rules.…
