The Syrian Refugee Immigration Policy is one that needs to be reviewed- and quickly. The United States is known as the nation of immigrants. Our culture is very ethnically and culturally diverse. This diversity is something we pride ourselves on. However, recently there has been a great deal of debate and controversy on and over how many immigrants the US should allow into the country. These arguments have seen no resolution and just seem to keep getting bigger and intensifying. One very popular debate of immigration is about the Syrian Refugee policy, due to the latest terrorist attacks per ISIS.

While we can neither generalize nor assume that all Muslims are radicals and want to inflict harm on Americans, we must be aware of the extremely real possibility of these attacks occurring. Americans cannot be naïve and turn the other cheek to these attacks on our liberty. We must be proactive. Keeping all Syrian refugees out is not possible. America is a giving country- we help those in need. I offer the idea that we should implement a much more extensive background checking system and have a waiting list. We might even put the potential immigrants under surveillance selected at random. An almost absurd yet intriguing idea is that we purchase and island and house the refugees there, supplying them with everything they need. While all these ideas may not seem exactly feasible, the easiest idea and humanitarianly thing we must do is to put aside our opinions and SAVE THE LIVES. Many are literally risking their lives, swimming over to countries seeking asylum. There would be so many less deaths if wealthier countries put more funding into international aid. These countries could fly the immigrants overseas to reduce the risk. These solutions can help offer a better sense of security to the fearful citizens of America and put us more at
