SUNSHINE HEALTH CORPORATIONS 2

Abstract Networking plays a vital part in business today. It provides the tool to link people, software and hardware together. It is not bound by time differences, and it provides businesses the opportunity to work together in ways that would not have been possible 20 years ago. More and more corporations depend on networking within different faucets of their organization. With

However, there are limitations with bandwidth. For example, what is the rate and quantity of information a company wants to transmit per second. This is a critical decision that will impact the success or failure of the system once implemented. It is not only important to know how quickly you want to send information, but also what is the speed at the receiving end. Remote, rural locations might not have the more sophisticated fiber optics cabling and would not be able to receive data at the same rate it is being sent. Access to the Internet and or Intranet may be so slow that some services are not functional. Since the protocol varies from country to country, the network needs to be agile enough to conform.
Specifically, the following cables are the recommended choices and supported by ANSI/TIA-1179:
• Category 6 or 6A UTP, which can support 10G Ethernet at distances to 90 m in the horizontal or 100 m when considering the full channel (including patch cords).
• Laser-optimized (OM3 or OM4) multimode fiber. Multimode fiber can be used both for backbone and horizontal cabling needs. For 10G Ethernet, OM3 fiber allows runs of 300 m, while OM4 supports 550 m. • Single-mode fiber is typically only used where distances preclude the use of multimode fiber, such as between buildings. The cost of transceivers for single-mode fiber is significantly higher than those for multimode

The standard defines various levels of density for work areas based on the type of spaces found in healthcare facilities. For example, low density is recommended for waiting rooms, medium density is recommended for exam rooms and high density is recommended for operating and intensive-care rooms.
Nevertheless, what you could do is to have an option to use both. But if expense is an issue, choose the best method to reduce costs. Once a section of equipment is replaced, test the functionality, and accessibility of resources for the end user. Once that is complete, move on to the next section and repeat the process. Thirdly, although it was not stated in the report as to whether the Sunshine Health Corporation had security or not, it indeed should be implemented. Having security is extremely detrimental to them due to the fact that on a day-to-day basis they would be sending patients’ information and business information over the line. In stating this, it is very important that the servers are well protected, physically as well as the information they are transferring to other systems. The Cisco switches, wireless routers, and IDS systems will provide security for the network from all foreseeable threats. “Providing complete intrusion protection, Cisco IDS delivers a comprehensive, pervasive security solution for combating unauthorized intrusions,

    - First we need to look at all cables and see what will be the most cost effective choice. If using standard copper (Cat6e) you will get gigabit transfer speeds but at only a 328 foot maximum run without repeaters. This cable choice is ideal at the office level with a central switch. If you have to go vertical in between floors and underground, then fiber optic would be ideal. These can go miles per single run and can transfer 100’s of gigbits per second. There is no EMI and is very secure. You could also use multi-run fiber for desktop computers if you require very secure connections that are not susceptible to EMI and can’t be tampered. Most networks today use a combination of both fiber and copper to suit their needs.…

Networking is everywhere one of the main benefits is that we can share devices such as printers, scanners, CD-ROM drives and many more. Also, we can connect to networks as Meyers (2003, p3) said “one network can be connected to another network and become a more powerful tool because of the great resources”.…

A computer network can be identified as a group of computers that are interconnected for sharing data between them or their users. One main method for optimizing computer usage is networking. However, for those who are contemplating a change from stand-alone computers to a network system. Investigation of actual networks in use presents a paradox: network systems can be highly productive and beneficial, but they can create many complexes, frustrating problems.…

The Ethernet standards comprise several wiring and signalling variants of the OSI physical layer in use with Ethernet. The original Ethernet used coaxial cable as a shared medium. Later the coaxial cables were replaced with twisted pair and fibre optic links in conjunction with hubs or switches. Data rates were periodically increased from the original 10 megabits per second to 100 gigabits per second.…

You were recently hired as a network consultant by RPD Enterprise, the only local supplier of business equipment and office supplies in Bontoc. Because of lack of competition, the owners have not reinvested in the business. A nationality recognized competitor recently opened for business with plans to put RPD out of business. In response, the owners have decided to reinvest substantial sums of money in the company. One of their first projects is to a local area network that will link employee computers. Before they invest money in the network, they want to know more about networks. Use the Web and/or print media material to answer the following questions put forward by the owners. What are the advantages of having a network? What are the disadvantages? What type of network best suited for our company – a peer to peer network or client/server network? What transmission media should the company use? Why? What type of problems can we expect with a network? Write brief report or use PowePoint to create a presentation and share your findings with your class.…
