SUMMER TRAINING REPORT

Celebrating thirteen years in pursuit of excellence as a management education centre, GHS-IMR, Kanpur has truly surfaced as an active hub of talent for a wide array of recruiters. GHS-IMR, Kanpur has consistently featured among the elite Institutes of the country - as validated by independent surveys. This relatively young Institute has achieved such stupendous growth and recognition by inculcating in its participants a sense of commitment as well as zeal to question status quo.

As a fast emerging B-School of the country, GHS-IMR, Kanpur has made yet another mark by successfully conducting the summer training 2008 with panache! With over 60 companies registering for the process, a quantum growth in the number of new companies, a reaffirmation of faith from our regular recruiters and a diverse energetic talent pool culminated in several offers to the 112 participants.

The finance and banking firms ruled the roost on campus this year with Kotak group(all SBU’s like wealth management, insurance and banking), Birla Sun, Cholamandalam group, I.D.B.I, India Bulls, HDFC, Sundram Direct and Barkley’s, among others picking in good numbers.

The major FMCG/marketing companies like Pepsi, AMUL, ITC, Asian Paints, Nerolac, and Dabur along with first-timers such as Apollo Tyres and Cipla also registered their presence in significant numbers offering a wide range of projects in the marketing, branding and sales sphere.

The second big chunks of students were picked up by retail and media sector. In retail companies like Reliance retail limited, ITC Ltd., Raymond’s, Hasbro clothing showed a lot of interest in our students. In media segment, companies like Big Animation, HT Media Ltd., CNBC TV 18 trusted the potential of our students.
