the book starts off at the end of the school year and Kendra notices that one of the boys is a kobald. after Bahumat was defeated she has the power to see creatures without the milk. to Kendra he is ugly but to everyone else he looks normal. Kendra knows this is not good. than a man named Errol Fisk says he can help Kendra with the kobald. he says Kendra and Seth must get a artifact. when the get there he says the building is age protected. only kids under the age of 12 can enter. Seth (being 12) can enter and retrieves the artifact. it looks like a frog and when he grabs it the frog bites him. Errol than asked them if they can help him get another artifact.
