Ebenezer Scrooge, the miser amongst Christmas. Dickens creation of whom encapsulates everything that detests Christian Christmas values of ‘charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence’ At the beginning of Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol – Scrooge, acts as the chief protagonist within the novella in which he is initially depicted as a ‘squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner’, as ‘self-contained, and as solitary as an oyster’. At this stage, it appears as if this man is incapable of relationships – however, through the threat of an afterlife of suffering, a spiritual journey guided by The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and of Christmas future, combined with a realisation of the importance of the relationships he had so long disregarded Scrooge is able to lose his capitalist lifestyle in exchange for a life lived in light of his tri-temporal, gothic, experience that helped him realise there is more to life then ‘weighing everything by gain’…

I like the DVD better than the written version of a Christmas Carol. Because I pay more attention to the DVD. When I read a book I read it but I think about a lot more then the book and then I don't know what it is about. When it is the move I think about other things why I watch it and I can tell you what happened. And the movie mead it so much better because it shows you what is going on and what he sees.…

She had hoped that today it would snow, it was surely a good day to wish for it. Thanksgiving only comes once a year, and this year she had so many things to be thankful for. It had been a nail biting year at times, but it was time to start making new memories, fresh memories, ones that would last for a lifetime. Smiling, Kelli daydreamed about what those memories might look like, baseball games, track meets, hiking and camping. Letting her mind wander as she pealed potatoes. The evening sky glister down to the reflection of the streets covered in white snow, little crystals shining brightly as ever. I reached Chiyoda where Itachi told me to meet up. As I was waiting in front of the Tokyo station, I watched strangers with their families, friends or beloved ones laughing and chatting. Additionally, I admired that the city transform into a sparkling winter wonderland as millions of colorful lights are displayed on trees, on and around buildings. Best Christmas Ever

Every year I have a great Christmas spending valuable time with family and friends. This past Christmas was the best I’ve ever had. I received the best unexpected gift ever! It all started when everyone in my family came to my house early Christmas morning for breakfast. After breakfast we started passing out gifts. First, we would usually go in a huge circle and everyone would open one gift at a time. This time was different and very odd to me. My family would let everyone open a gift and would skip me. At first, I wondered why I didn’t get my turn yet, but then, I thought to myself that something was up. After a while, my family let me open some of my gifts so that I wouldn’t suspect anything. Next, my whole family huddled up whispering to each other. I then knew that something wasn’t right which made me get a little angry. After my family’s little huddle, they handed me a card. As I read the card, I come across the words,” You will be going on a 7 day cruise to Mexico!” I stood up screaming to the top of my lungs with enjoyment. I cried happy tears because I never expected to go on a cruise especially without my parents. All of my family members rushed to me and gave me a big hug. My grandmother and I cried together in joy and sadness because she was happy for me but at the same time, she didn’t want to see her oldest grandchild leave the country without her being there with me. Over all, my family gave me some advice on what to do and what not to do while I’m on the cruise. I had a great time on the cruise and got to learn about a different culture from mines. It was a unforgettable experience and I would never forget the best Christmas…
