Overall, technology can destroyed both infrastructure and intellect. Technology has and will destroy infrastructure. To begin with, the priest, John, explains his thoughts about the eastern lands. The priest said, “It is there that spirits live, and demons-it is there that there are the ashes of the Great Burning”(265). Technology that made the nuclear bomb left ashes of a destroyed New York City. After that scene, the priest found more evidence that technology left New York City in ruins.
