Summary Of 3 Reasons Why We Need Leaders
Hello I am a student at Gila Ridge High School, your article Mr.Scandling “3 Reasons Why We Need Leaders” intrigues readers to read more into your article. This explains on how we need some kind of leader to be successful in life. Without some sort of leader it will be difficult to succeed in anyone’s lifetime. Each and every person at least looks up to one person that helps them and guides them to be a better person in life. I definitely agree with you that we do need some kind of leader. It’s just us as humans have a normal desire to be led by someone. I agree on how we need leaders because without them we wouldn’t be able to be healthy and functional in life . As you stated “As a child you will view your parents or guardians as leaders …show more content…
Leaders will not always help identify you there are just some things that you need to find out yourself. If our leaders do everything for us we would not be able to do anything on our own without some help. You did also have a couple of fallacies in your article which are, hasty generalization and slippery slope. Hasty generalization was used because you assumed that only successful people will only have children. As you stated “ Additionally, successful people will be be more likely to attract a sexual partner and reproduce which is another fundamental principle of life.”(Scandling,2014) Successful people are not the only people who can have children and attract a sexaul partener. Everyone has different opinions on who they would want their sexual partner will be. Its Slippery Slope because if we didn’t have leaders that we would have no guide no life with anything , and be unsuccessful. These fallacies would have convinced people who truly believe they have not succeed in life. They would believe that they need to be successful to have children.
The big picture of this article is that we all need a little help to reach our goals in life. Then again it will not hurt to push yourself to get to your achievements. We are selves will become leaders at some point in our life as well. We will be leaders for our children, siblings, and friends this is something that was left out in your article. Why did you leave that out in your article is it because you came to the conclusion that you thought that the more we read into your article we would get the hint. Well at the end of the day we are all leaders in way or another at the end of the

A dictionary definition of a leader is a guiding hand in a movement or group. My definition of a leader is someone who stands out amongst the rest and steps up to the task and helps the “followers” advance and strive to become a leader as well. The only way a leader can be effective is by leading by example. A prime example of this is Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the face for trying to go to school. If she hadn’t gone to school she wouldn’t have been shot, but she also wouldn’t have a Nobel Peace prize. She is now using her story to speak for access to education for everyone. A leader is someone who leads by example and uses their skills to help others succeed.…

The authors try to define who is a leader. They say “Leadership is a process of influence. Anytime you seek to influence the thinking, behaviour, or development of people in their personal or professional lives, you are taking on the role of a leader.” (pg. 5) You might be a parent, a teacher, a nurse, a pastor, a coach, or an adult child helping her aging parents. There are differences between being a “life leader” (such as a parent) and an “organizational leader” (a manager in a company). The author defines leadership as influence in a positive or negative direction.…

Everyone aspires to be a leader. No one wants to be the quiet person in the room that sits back, while looking for the guidance of others. The desire to be a leader troubled me greatly in the past, because I wanted to be the one that innovated new ideas. I knew I was a quiet kid, but all of my worst fears were solidified when I learned of my first grade teachers thoughts of me which were “ a follower, not a leader”. I tried to brush it off, and disguise my true feelings, but that is not the way I wanted others to perceive me as in any way. Although it is difficult to replace these preconcieved notions, I have consistently worked to show others what I’m made of. All I needed was the opportunity to prove others that they were wrong. Especially since I like to think that it is the quiet ones we need to look out for.…

It is important to reveal and identify what leadership entails and represents. As we take a look at (Adams, Brilhart, Galanes, 2004 ) they do a great job of focusing on the difference between leadership and a leader. When focusing on leadership in general they keen in on the idea that it is an interpersonal influence. Even further the way that Hackman and Johnson describe it with the focus on communication it reveals or is defined as "human symbolic communication which modifies the attitudes and behaviors of others in order to meet group goals and needs."(pg. 229) When reaching further into the article it explains how leadership…

Being a leader is more than simply holding a leadership position or having the ability to lead. Everyone is capable of being a leader, but not everyone exercises his or her leadership abilities. Each person’s idea of leadership is different. My idea of leadership has developed over time, and being a member of the President’s Leadership Class has helped me develop my philosophy of leadership further than what it was two months ago. My personal philosophy of leadership is the ability to effect change through leading by example, taking initiative, and encouraging others.…
