Reconfirmed Thesis: While Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, I believe That Suicide is wrong.
While Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, I believe That Suicide is wrong. Suicide ("to kill oneself") is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Have you ever known someone who’s committed or tried to commit suicide and thought, “I wish I would’ve done something, said something, to stop it from happening?” Well two years ago a good friend of mine did end up committing Suicide. I don’t exactly know why he did it because he was at college at the time while I was still at high school. When I found out about it I was shocked and in dis belief that someone my age that I knew could be dead at such a young age. According to the Rabbi it was a Chemical imbalance in his brain that caused him to do it. For too many people there is a stigma attached to suicide that prevents those contemplating the act from seeking help. Depression, despair or low self-esteem is common precursors to suicide. But while these conditions are often the result of a physical condition, such as an abnormality of the chemistry of the brain, they are seen by many people as personality flaws, weaknesses that can be overcome by force of will. Those who have contemplated suicide are often reluctant to share their experiences because they fear being labeled. Survivors of those who have killed themselves are reluctant to talk about what they saw or did prior to the suicide for fear of community reaction. And some lawmakers, who control the financing needed to create or maintain suicide prevention programs, are reluctant to devote scarce resources to what they see as a personal failing, rather than a societal issue. No matter the race or age of the person; how rich or poor they are, it is true that most people who commit suicide have a mental or emotional disorder. A social networking site can be defined as an online service that is based around the building and reflecting of social relations among individuals with common interests or social ties (Boyd & Ellison, 2007). Social networking sites such as Friendster, Linkedin, Spoke, Face book, MySpace and Twitter all vary slightly, yet the one main feature they have is that they enable users to create a profile within the website to represent themselves and allows users to interact through email, instant messaging and other integrated communication channels within the site (Papacharissi, 2009).
