Sugar House Community Analysis
A community is a group of people who live in the same area and share common interests, needs, resources, and environment. These communities also can be described as the area in which they live such as towns, cities, locals, or neighborhoods. A society that is characterized as a specific area holds geographic boundaries. I have chosen to examine the Sugar House community located in the heart of Salt Lake City where I work and live. The Sugar House community holds geographic boundaries and sharing the same governing structure of Council’s articles of a corporation and can be described as a geopolitical community (Harkness & DeMarco, p.189, 2016).
During the windshield survey, I had observed a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and intellectual diversity of the community. Sugar House is a home for shopping, family restaurants, and a luxury seating in the movie theater. There is also a small park named Hidden Hollow Natural Area that was a part of development in preparation for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The Sugar House Park …show more content…
Many changes and innovations were made since then, the Sugar House community became beautiful, trendy neighborhood for some good reasons like living, shopping, and nightlife entertainments. Sugar House neighborhood has its distinct personality with an enormous variety of housing options including mid-century bungalows; new, well-equipped apartment complexes and older apartments located on the edges of the community. The average monthly rent in Sugar House is $1,476 and buy a single-family home starts with $262,400 9move.org, 2015). Sugar House is home to some of the most excellent public schools along with private-independent Carden Memorial Christian school in Utah. Mathnasium, Sugar House Math Tutoring, and Learning Centers offer math lessons to students in the elementary, middle, and high school serving the
