Students could also get pursued by aggressive collection agencies and this could lower their credit score. When researching about student loans, I didn’t really learn any new information. Being in the middle class we have the resources to know where to go for a private loan or the knowledge from previous generation going to college and having federal student loans. The lower class might not have the knowledge about student loans or how to repay because they might be the first person in their family to go to college. The benefit of having this form of capital is having the knowledge about student loans which gives students the resource to get a better education to increase their human capital and improve their social stratification. Not all students have the knowledge about student loans and are left without going to college because they can’t afford it without financial help.
From my research, the terms I included into the project are as followed. Grants are need-based funds that do not have to be repaid. Scholarships are funds that do not have to be repaid. Work Study is a limited, need-based funding that students earn by working on campus. Students are paid an hourly wage for the number of hours they work during each pay period. Loans are funds that you must repay. Most student loans are set up with deferred payments, meaning you do not have
