Stretch R Wings Case Study
Describe the components of Stretch 'r Wings sales approach.
This company's sales approach is well put together. I say this because when you get to section 5 ( Strategy and Implementation Summary), you see everything that an investor would want to see in a business plan. Let's start with the Competitive Edge which breaks down the company's product and features like an Aluminum frame and also explain some of their competitors product so the investor that the plan is presented to can compare and contrast and answer the question why they should invest. The Sales Strategy was very informative and smart because they are hiring sales experts in the aviation field with sales expertise. Any investor that looks at this business plan would be interested because it covers almost every base of questions that the investor would have.

I like how at the beginning of each section there is an explanation of the section. The Sales Forecast shows the expected sales projections for the company's sales. The chart helped investors see how the company expected its profit margins to grow.

Discuss whether or not you think their sales plan is effective for a business in that market with that marketing mix.
I think their sales plan is effective and possesses the four P's of marketing which is product, price, place(distribution) and promotion. In the sales plan I see the different marketing tools that they are using such as a marketing analysis, sales strategy and products. If Stretch 'r Wings was a real company. I think they would be very successful because their business plan has all the information that anyone would need.

Discuss whether or not you think they have enough detail in their business plan to effectively communicate their sales

The concept of forecasting financials is as much about calculating the data is its about understanding the data. A simple concept of calculating the larger perspective for a simple index can be the keys to understanding the direction of the company. Calculating that direction will help those who associate with the company as owners, lenders, and board members to know if the company is credit worthy, turnaround on accounts receivables, and the long term financial health of the company.…

    | The problem facing Janmar Coatings, Inc. is deciding where and how to execute corporate marketing efforts in the southwestern United States. Janmar Coatings is currently marketing to 50 counties, their main focus area so far has been the 11 counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The main issue Ronald Burns, the president of Janmar Coatings, is having is trying to come up with a solution to market his company in the most cost effective way during 2005. After 2 long meetings with his executive team he still has no clear direction. He has gathered an approach from each of his team members, including: VP of Advertising, VP of Sales, VP of Operations, and VP of Finance, and now has four solutions to consider. The VP of Advertising has proposed to increase corporate advertising with an large emphasis on television. The VP of Sales proposed hiring a new field representative to help generate new accounts. The VP of Operations has proposed a 20% price cut on all Janmar product sales. The VP of Finance proposed that nothing be done; that the company continue with their current efforts and keep a 35% contribution margin. After looking at the company’s overall goals and finances, I would agree with the VP of Sales. Based on his suggestion, I believe it would be a smart time to hire a new sales representative for Janmar. The cost attributed to company for hiring a new sales representative would be $60,000 per year. And the amount of sales revenue needed to cover this expense is $170,000. However, if this sales representative position is correctly used, they will be able to make this margin back rapidly. Because by concentrating on only developing new retail accounts in the non-DFW area, the company could generate lots of sales to a brand new buyer market. Janmar has realized that they need to focus more energy on the ‘Do-it-yourselfers’ as they say, or DIY…

strength. The owners have 30 years of experience in the industry combined and have all the knowledge of daily operations for a racing business. The industry motorsports has been fast growing and has over 1.5 billion in annual sales. The business model is very well developed and researched. The plan provides breakdowns of what capital is needed to start-up, maintain the business, and provides an anticipated growth plan for the next three years. The owners also researched the location and that there has been a 25% increase in population growth in the last decade. Furthermore a new kart racing company will be opening across the street from them. I feel the company has a sound mission statement and has put much thought into how to go about achieving the goals stated in the mission statement. I think this business will attract many clients as the owner intends to be active in the industry, form partnerships with local businesses, and offer discounts to clients of partnering businesses.…

I have been through so many experiences with sales representatives but as well as everyone else in the world who buys goods or services from someone else. You meet different kind of salespeople anywhere where you go. They’re motives can be because they are working on commission meaning their paycheck is reflected on the amount of product or service they sell or they are just trying to be as helpful to you as possible because they like what they do. For whatever, reason it may be the goal is always to find and sell what the consumer wants. I have worked in retail in the past selling coffee for people. I did not have any experience in selling prior to the coffee shop job but the job teaches you how to sell their product. So, I have an idea how the sales representatives are going to be like and the basic structure, which brings me to one of my memorable experiences with a sales representative. I was looking for a present for my girlfriend for our anniversary. I know already that she likes this one particular brand so I went to that store. The usual greeting the moment I got in the store, “Hello, please let us know if there is anything we could help you in.” I looked around the store and stopped at their jewelry case. I have been standing there for about five minutes before a sales representative came up to me. She asked if there was anything she can help me with. I told her why I was there. The sales representative started to ask me a couple of follow up questions such as the time of the anniversary, whether my girlfriend like silver or gold, and the clothes she wears. After, answering all her questions she showed me a couple of necklaces and rings as an idea for a present. I liked all of them but I told her none of those feel right to get. Then, she asked me my feelings towards a particular product and it from there she brought out watches and bracelets. From those questions that was asked from me she pinpointed what I was looking for before…
