Strength And Bravery In Beowulf

Beowulf, a known Old English epic poem, is a story of a young warrior from Geat, who initially comes to help the king of Danes, Hrothgar. King Hrothgar’s kingdom is being terrorized by a swamp monster by the name of Grendel. Beowulf has astronomic strength and bravery which he uses to take on the villainous swamp monster, Grendel. Beowulf utilizes his strength and bravery to take on Grendel at the mead hall. From there, Beowulf then must face Grendel’s very vengeful mother. He ends up killing Grendel’s mother in her swampy home water. From these accomplishments of defeating the swamp monsters, Beowulf’s fame spreads widely. He then returns home to Geatland with treasures for his king, Hygelac. Beowulf later becomes king of the Geats and rules
