Strategic Volunteer Engagement Research
You made a very good point with your comment about being able to understand the needs of people from other geological backgrounds. This made me think about needs from a volunteers’ prospective. How important is it to meet the needs of the volunteer? So, I began to research this and came across a guide about this very topic called, “Strategic Volunteer Engagement: A Guide for Nonprofit and Public Sector Leaders.” In it, author Rehnborg (2009) and her assistants resolved that, “no framework, regardless of how thoroughly conceptualized, is a substitute for getting to know the unique needs and concerns of each volunteer” (Concluding Thoughts section, para. 5).
