Steroid Informative Speech
Thank you chair parson.
Good afternoon everyone. Today, I would like to talk about Effects of steroid ointment application on chemotherapy-induced phlebitis by A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.

We have nothing to declare for this research.

Phlebitis is a very common side effects of continuous intravenous infusion of 5-fluorouracil via the peripheral veins.
We evaluated the preventive effects of topical steroid application on fluorouracil-induced phlebitis by randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
The photo shows phlebitis of a patient who underwent cisplatin chemotherapy via the peripheral vein.
Phlebitis causes two big problems about nursing and cosmetic.
In nursing, nurses cannot use the damaged vein for anticancer drug infusion and they should use another vein for next infusion. From the view point of cosmetic, the appearance of forearm will change with phlebitis and it causes stigma of cancer or chemotherapy. It might restrict the patients’ quality of life especially in the activities with light dressing.

The present study is a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial.

Patients applied the allocated ointment on the forearm by themselves every morning and evening during CF therapy. As this photo, the allocation areas were defined within a range of insertion site to 15cm. CF therapy needs 4 or 5days and we evaluated the pigmentation and induration at 24 hours and 1 month at after the CF therapy. The primary endpoint was the pigmentation length at 28 days after the end of FP therapy. Assessments requiring measurements were performed by two

Ulceration and pain are potential side effects of podophyllin therapy. In addition, special care must be taken in using this agent because it not only causes tissue injury but also can be absorbed systemically and cause neurologic toxicity. Deaths have occurred with the use of podophyllin on exuberant perianal warts; the surface area of the lesions increases the absorption of the drug. Podophyllin is contraindicated in pregnancy.…

The health care provider in this patient scenario is concerned that E.O. might have type 1-hypersensitivity. The patient has indications of this reaction as written in the provided patient history. Having an allergy to bee stings, and being a diagnosed asthma patient makes the Health care provider cautious in prescribing E.O. a course of penicillin, which is a broad spectrum antibiotic and a possible cause of human anaphylaxis as indicated in the textbox 10-1 (Copstead & Banasik, 2013). The bee sting allergy indicates that the patient has hypersensitivity and having asthma indicates the physiological mechanisms to a type 1 reaction. Type 1-hypersensitivity reactions…

Curiosity has always driven me towards new experiences; so naturally, I walked into class and sat in the front row. As we started discovering the normal anatomy of the skin, how to precisely describe skin lesions, I found myself being drawn into Dermatology day after day. With this patient, we began by initiating an IV. Once initiated, I collected blood samples, which are needed to perform a CBC, electrolyte panel, and test for kidney function. I also collected a urine sample for a urinalysis to be conducted. All of these exams are important because in addition to the signs and symptoms that the patient is presenting with, it will provide the physician with objective information that will assist the physician in making a correct medical diagnosis. After collecting the labs, I began the administration of normal saline to maintain fluid status and prevent dehydration, since the patient had been vomiting for the past two days. Lastly, I administered Toradol to relieve the patient from pain and Zofran to prevent further nausea and…
