Assignment 3.2 Sponsorship Letter

Anna Miller

Professional Communication

Geri Roberts

MPPPSL P.O. Box 234, Manassas, VA 20109

January 30, 2014

Attention:

Dear Mr/Mrs. ,

As the sponsorship coordinator of the MPPPSL, I would like to present your company with a wonderful way to help our community by financially helping a local girl softball league. MPPPSL has been a part of Manassas Park community for over 40 plus years, teaching young women sportsmanship, team work, and help to build the confidence of these young women that they will need as adults.

While the sponsorship is a tax deduction there are other added benefits. Sponsoring gives you both the great pride that you are helping a young girl to learn to be a part of a team as well as giving back to your community. Your sponsorship will go towards buying equipment, uniforms, pay for umpires and the cost to maintain the fields.

While the league tries not to turn any child away from playing it is getting harder due lack of financial sponsorships. Our league prides ourselves in helping many families with multiple children, and families that can’t afford the cost of the neighbor leagues, which can cost up to $180 for one child. The league does ask the girls to participle in fundraisers to help offset some of these costs. But with your help the league will be able to help more girls and families.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If I may, I will phone your office in the next few days to arrange a convenient time to discuss the details of the proposed partnership.

Yours sincerely,

Ron Faircloth
President
Manassas Park Pigtail Ponytail Softball League

We would like to “thank you” for your $1500 donation of last year. Your donation went towards insurance and purchasing of safety equipment. This is our second year participating in Jersey Shore AYF. As you know, we are youth football organization here in the city. We formed our charter last year, and we are known as Asbury Park American Youth Football (AFY) association. We participate within the largest league in the shore as well as New Jersey. We have roughly about 90 boys and girls participating in football & cheer among three (3) teams: Mighty-Mites, Cadets, and Jr. Peewees. We practice and play our home games at the high school stadium.…

Vienna’s little league proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2012. On a less positive note, however, the organization has experienced a significant decline in registrations over the past decade. As a result, Vienna Little League, Inc. (VLL) decided in 2011 to convert from a three-league system back to a two-league system. The decline in enrollment seems perplexing considering that the…

Since I was 7 years old, I have always participated in Greenwich’s very own Cardinal Baseball Camp. However, until last summer, I had always been one of the campers. This year I was an official volunteer of the camp. Everyday from 8 a.m. till 12 p.m., me and approximately 30 other staff members at the camp would teach young kids how to play baseball. This camp is run very locally, and it is very personalized, something that should truly be valued in a large town like Greenwich. Although not perfect, this is the best camp in town, and it will continue to stay that way as it continues to improve itself. The Greenwich Cardinal Baseball Camp is a very effective place for kids to go and not only learn the game of baseball, but meet new friends,…

It is really a special day to see all these runners participate in this Red legs Run. It shows how strong and supportive the Red Leg community and that there is always opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth. I projected that this race would hopefully raise 50,000$dollars. Ladies and Gentlemen. Today we have already raised over $180,000 and that number is continuing to rise. This number is unprecedented and I want to personally thank all of the sponsors and participants for helping us achieve our goal of 50,000. This money will be incorporated into the Red's community fund. This money will fund some of our outreach programs. Outreach programs include the Reds Rookie Success League, a free, coed, character-building program for 6-12 year olds in Greater Cincinnati. It will also fund Youth Baseball and Softball Funding, which underwrites expenses for more than 400 inner-city teams throughout Reds Country. Also, it will aid in Renovations of multiple baseball fields. The funds from this Red Leg Run will help restore over 325 baseball and softball…

Those in charge of the sports activities here in Sterling should focus on getting today’s youth passionate about the sport they are involved in. Many of the sports available for young children are run by an organization, but do not set guidelines for the parent coaches to follow. A standard set of values that deserve recognition should be provided to the volunteers who guide young athletes. Each team could have an end of the season dinner or get together, where each child’s biggest accomplishment gets recognized. Recognizing individual achievements gives each child an actual realistic confidence booster that they can be proud of. Having each teammate say something nice or constructive about someone else would build the relationships between team members and create a stronger community. The team t-shirts that are given to each player at the beginning of the season are a great momento of the child’s involvement in the sport, participation trophies are…

As well, some people think that doing club sports should be free. They belive that because some people don't have the money to pay to join. What these people fail to relize is that there are wasy to avoide that. They could set up a scholorship so if he or she can only pay to a little or no part of it they scholorship could help pay for it. The athletes parents could pay a little more so over time they collect enough money to help pay for the kids that have trouble…

Sports should be a part of everybody’s lifestyle. There are many different types of sports, from combat sports to snow sports or even water sports, but the best type of sports are physical. One of the most outstanding physical sports is softball. Softball can be played by female athletes at many different levels. For example, travel softball, one of the most advanced ways to play, is played by elite girls between the ages of nine and twenty-three. Travel softball is a better opportunity than summer league softball because it makes any softball player a better athlete and more social by getting the opportunity to meet new people, play softball all year round, and experience more recruitment options.…

There are thousands of children who play sports in the communities on facilities supported by residents through their tax dollars. The Miracle League of El Paso provides disabled children and young adults in our communities who cannot participate in a sport on a conventional field with a place to play baseball. The Miracle League of El Paso removes the obstructions that stop children with disabilities off the baseball field and allows them to experience playing the field. The main obstruction for disabled children starts from the natural grass fields. The Miracle League of El Paso is about building self-esteem, making new friends, and confidence. The Miracle League of El Paso applies a "buddy" system – coupling each player with a peer volunteer to help the players. The Miracle League of El Paso 's strategic plan is to work closely with the Junior League of El Paso, Inc. and partnerships with the public leaders, and follow their directions, establishing a possible benefactor record. The short-term goal is the planning for an accessible, adaptable playground for the back area of the field. The Miracle League of El Paso plans to advertise and campaign to raise the needed $350,000 for the construction of the playground.…

I must always be very responsible and well rounded to keep up with school, homework, practice, my social life, and my family. As exhausting as it is to stay fully devoted to this game there are many rewards. Softball has taught me about several valuable life lessons that will follow me through the rest of my life which include; teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, good sportsmanship, determination, faith, friendship, love, and so much more. Although I am very thankful for now possessing these qualities, the biggest way my dedication to softball would give back to me is by landing me a scholarship to play softball at a college. To be able to play at college level in a sport I have dedicated my whole life and worked so hard at would be a dream come true and such an accomplishment to know that I have finally made it. Through all the sweat, blood, and tears. The scorching heat, or the freezing cold, or the endless hours of practicing. It will have all been worth it in the end because I ended up exactly where I’ve always wanted to be; which is on a college softball field. I can just imagine it now. All the cheering fans and the television broadcasters as they film the game live for all to see on ESPN; the bright sun that beats down on us as we stand on the brown dirt and green…
