Are There Angels Among Us?

My First Speech Outline

Introduction:

With the incredibly fast pace of modern life, most of us don’t take a lot of time to think about angels. The hottest debate revolved around a single crucial issue: Were angels ever transformed into flesh-and blood beings in order to perform earthly deeds? If angels ever did become fleshly beings that looked like ordinary men, what would they be like? How would you pick one out from among your neighbors? Would he be extra good, a sweet cherub of a person? Or extra evil, one of those fiendish fallen angels? It’s interesting how many people who don’t follow a particular religion, or wouldn’t even call themselves spiritual, believe in angels. Many people believe that when they die, they will become an Angel. Others believe in Angels, but they don’t believe that humans can become Angels. Now, you may have wondered if Angels get to know what you're thinking, or if they can see you at any given moment. Most agree that there are Angels among us. No matter how you picture Angels in your mind, one thing is for certain, angels are real, we’ve got a God that loves us more than we could ever imagine, and wants to reach people at their point of need.

Discussion: 1. Real Angels are absolutely real. All through the Bible are accounts of people interacting with angels and of angels acting on behalf of people. Angels are real servants of God but you won't know the full extent of the work they do until you get to heaven. The Bible's answer is that angels really do exist. Angels are mentioned in thirty-four of the Bible's sixty-six books. Jesus repeatedly referred to them. When it comes to angels, unseen doesn't mean unreal. Though angels do exist, many of the popular notions about them are wishful thinking. Our culture sells us a Disney version of angels that portrays them as spiritual Tinkerbelle. Angels are supposedly cute and

It is my theory that when the fallen angels procreated with human women, and created the Nephilim race, many of these “Angelic” abilities were genetically passed onto their offspring. In my research, I discovered that infrasound can cause the effects described in the Bible verses I cited. I theorize that the knowledge of how infrasound affects humans, and how to produce infrasound, was passed genetically to the Nephilim.…

Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings opens at noon “on the third day of rain”(327) on the land of Pelayo and Elisenda. Pelayo is sweeping piles of dead crabs out of his home because the smell of the invading animals has made he and Elisenda’s newborn son ill. On his way back inside Pelayo notices something squirming on the ground ahead of him and discovers “that it was an old man, a very old man, lying face down in the mud, who, in spite of his tremendous efforts, couldn’t get up, impeded by his enormous wings”(327). The reader assumes the obvious when they are presented with the image of a man with wings, he is an angel, and this is also the conclusion of the couple’s neighbor. The twist, however, is that in the following…

    I. The Word angel in English as we know it is angel. Well the word comes from the Greek word. Angelo means messenger. The Hebrew word means Malak which can also mean messenger. Malachi in the bible got his name from the word Malak so that his name has a meaning of messenger or angel. This fact really interests me because I was going to name my son Malachi; I really wish I would have named him Malachi now that I have learned this. I have discovered in the Old Testament theology included a belief in angels. In haven there was certain spiritual intelligences, they worked for God just like they were ministers of His will. I foswund lots of verses that relate the topic of angles to theology. One of them is Matthew 11;30, I like it because it gives me a vivid description of angels. Angels are purely spiritual or bodiless. Matthew 11;30.…

The theological definition of the word Angel is “messenger”, generally a supernatural messenger from God. The word usually signifies a “spirit” however, the messenger may be human. The common imagery of angels today is that of winged, cherub faced children with feminine features. This well-known identity is quite a departure from the original biblical description of angels. Both the Old and New Testament describe angels almost exclusively as young men serving as a messenger for good news (McBrien 1994). Some of the best-known examples of this include angel Gabriel’s announcement of the birth of John the Baptist (Luke 11:20) and the announcement of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb (Matthew 28:2) (Bible 2000). These Bible stories worked to create the perception of angels as a missing link between the divine and the earthly. It was the Mesopotamians who shaped the image associated with angels today, referring to them as giant winged genies. The image was further transformed during the beauty-driven Gothic Period, when angels began to be drawn and sculpted with soft, feminine features (Leeming,…

    The Hierarchy Of Angels

    • 819 Words

A hierarchy of angels is a belief or tradition found in the angelology of different religions, which holds that there are different levels or ranks of angels. Higher ranks may be asserted to have greater power or authority over lower ranks, and with different ranks having differences in appearance, such as varying numbers of wings or faces. There have been many accounts of people actually saying that they have a spiritual being guiding them and helping them. A person that is well known in history that said they had a spiritual being with them is George Washington. He even credited his success at Valley Forge to “an inspiring visit from a heavenly being.” Another person well known in history that spoke of angels is Abraham Lincoln. He often called upon the healing powers and wisdom of the Angels to help guide him and heal the nation in times of death and devastation. Of course all of this is up to belief it shows that it may not be real but if you believe things can go right. If you ask the angels for help to get through something, you need to believe they will help you and you need to believe in yourself as well. They aren’t doing all of it. You are doing the work too.…
