Another thing I found very interesting in same article. Reading about what he thinks as speech communities helped myself create thoughts of what I thought a speech community was. For example, I thought a speech community was speaking differently with different groups of people. Although this is correct, Roberts explains that speech communities depend on all kinds of factors: age, education, location, etc. I also found the example about how your family has a huge impact on how you communicate with others quite intriguing. I remember growing up trying to pronounce the word “scissors" as "sizzors”.
