Speach on Animal Abuse
Today I am going to be talking about animal abuse.
Why do people abuse innocent animals? Is it just for the fun of it?
What would you do if you saw someone hurting an animal? Would you do something to stop it ? Most of you won’t, most of you would just watch while they abuse the animals
I will be talking about many different animals but mostly cats and dogs, because they are the most abused domestic animals in this world. Domestic means that these are types of animals you can have in your home.

Who would abuse a poor defenceless cat or dog? Unfortunately, people of all ages abuse animals. This includes senior citizens, adults, teenagers and even children. Sadly, most animal abusers and killers are teenagers.

They are more likely to be an abuser of animals. Serious or repeated animal cruelty is seen more often in boys than girls. People now days have low self-esteem, few friends, and are bullies who may also be known for skipping school, damaging other people’s property and have other bad behaviours. These are the type of people that would likely abuse animals.

Adults who abuse animals may have grown up in an abusive home. Sometimes, one adult may take out their anger on their dog or cat. Others do it for no reason. Sadly, teenagers abuse animals for fun, even though there certainly is nothing funny about what they have done. It is the exact opposite – stupidity.

Abused cats have been beaten and even killed by their owners. One cat was burned to death by teenagers. During my research, I read of two teens that killed a total of seventeen cats. One cat was put in a microwave and was killed. Another man killed his cat by hitting it with a rake. If this doesn’t make you feel sick, I don’t what else would.

Dogs have been abused as well. Five puppies were thrown down into an outhouse hole. Luckily, someone walking by heard their pitiful whining and they were all rescued. One man killed his mother’s dog with a hammer. Another dog, named Rudy, was

There are many ways in which people tend to abuse of animals. An example is neglect, meaning that between a pet and the owner there is a “failure to provide an animal with the most basic of requirements of food, water, shelter and veterinary care” (What). Dogfighting is another example. Dogfights are events when two dogs are put inside a fighting pit and are forced to fight until the other one is dead or is too weak to fight back. The fights are brutal and the owners abandon the loosing dogs with only a couple more hours to live because of its deadly injuries or inhumanly kill the dogs themselves. The winning dog owner gets a money price. Most of the dogs that are considered to not be good enough to be entered in the pit and be victorious are used as bait to train other dogs or as breeding dogs where they are constantly exploited. All of these actions that people inflict on the animals can make them become very scared of humans, other dogs and their surroundings causing them to be very…

Why are some children inspired to behave this way? Most behaviors are either learned or mimicked, so who is influencing these children? Perhaps their parents have the same attitude, or even sadly perhaps the children are on the other end of the brutality, just acting out what has already been done to them? Animal abuse can be an indicator of the likelihood of future acts of violence. Abusers and children who witness abuse may become desensitized to violence and may lose the ability to empathize with victims.…

Animal abusement is when people hurt animals on purpose. One form of animal abusement is dogfighting. Dogfighting is a gambling sport where two trained and bred dogs, fight to the death in a dirt with surrounding walls of wood. Over 16,000 dogs die per year from dog fighting only. Results can be severe bruising, deep puncture wounds and broken bones says humanesociety.org. Dogs often die of blood loss, shock, dehydration. One former dogfighter said “Miss Rufus spent most of the rest of the fight on her back and Bandit broke her other front leg high up in the shoulder, as well as one of her back legs, in the knee joint. The only leg she didn’t break she chewed all to h*ll. She had literally scalped Miss Rufus, tearing a big chunk of skin off the top of her head alongside one ear." according to humanesociety.org. Also children are present to these fights which is a bad influence to those kids and tells them that it is okay to abuse animals. Illegal drugs and firearms are found being sold at these events and even homicide is happening at these events. Dogs who are training for these fights are baited on running on a treadmill with an animal in a cage, some ears cut off (For other animals to not latch on) , dogs are injected with steroids, and food is injected with roach poison (A way to kill cockroaches) to make him taste…

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing”-Albert Einstein. Abuse towards animals occurs when humans cause harm to animals intentionally or unintentionally. Animal Cruelty during the Victorian Era is similar to the present day because people beat animals as punishment. However in the present day more people are hoarding animals as a result of being emotionally troubled rather than having a criminal motive, and people have started to stand up against abusive behavior towards animals.…

So far we've been staring at the situation from a Human POV, but animals are also living creatures; with needs that have to be taken care of by us, the highest intellectual being. It has been proven that animals have emotions, not expressed as our own, but they can be happy, sad, angry, hungry, hurt. It is unfair and an abuse that humans are so self centered focusing only in themselves, and not in the other third of living creatures. Animals should be loved and cherished, especially dogs and cats, as they can bring immense joy to any family. They can become your next Netflix Pal, or your Running Coach, or even your Cuddle Buddy when you're having a rough…

Animal cruelty is a pressing subject in today’s society. Even though we use animals for their fur, entertainment, research and as food, we have to do it in a humane way that minimizes pain and suffering towards the animal in use due to animal rights laws that have been enacted. Small organizations such as the ALB (Animal Liberation Brigade), CAFT (Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade), COK (Compassion Over Killing), FoA (Friends of Animals), FFA (Fight For Animals), IDA (In Defense of Animals), LCA(Last Chance for Animals) MFA (Mercy for Animals), and larger more well known organizations like the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals), ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Humane Society of the United States help to prevent and rescue victims of animal abuse. Animals are usually abused due to the fact that they cannot speak about the wrongs done to them and they cannot call out for help. Not just animal abuse is wrong, but any sort of abuse is immoral overall.…

Good morning, teachers and fellow students. Imagine if you were beaten for no reason, forces to do something you don’t want to, and left to die. This is how many animals are treated every day. Nobody should do this to other animals, and it must be stopped. People should be kind to animals because they’re sensitive, just like humans. If an animal is abused, it will try to defend itself which can result injuries for both humans and animal. All animals should be treated equally, animal abusers should respect animals instead of abuse them.…
