Progress Report for Research Essay

The topic for my research essay is “Solar Power Cars“. My curiosity grew towards solar energy since the first time I heard about it, and over the time, my interest has developed, while coming across different and wonderful applications of such a never ending energy source. I have also been passionate about motor car designs since childhood, and my curiosity to find out about the consequences of combining solar energy with motor cars, led me to choose my topic.
Global warming is a general issue and mankind is trying it’s best to solve this worldwide problem. One of our best options is to replace our existing fuels with the endless energy from the sun. Some of the fuels that we have been using to run our cars are such natural resources which are non-renewable and also emit harmful chemicals, which cause global warming. So, replacing such energy resources with the never ending and non-polluting energy from the sun can be very useful for us. Undoubtedly, solar energy is an excellent choice for us, but when I think more about it’s benefits, some questions arise in my mind about it’s probable disadvantageous impacts on the automotive industry. It makes me doubt that, an unlimited energy source, so powerful and beneficial, cannot only have it’s good side. There must be a dark side of it which I want to explore and learn about through my research. Then I want to compare both it’s advantages and disadvantages over our automotive industry and find out if it is still beneficial for us to use such energy as a fuel to run cars.
