I started playing softball when I was eleven years old. I played for my middles school and that is when I first began to love the game. Throughout the rest of middle school all the way till now I have still played the game and I believe that I will be able to continue playing the game on into my 50’s and 60’s as long as my body allows me to continue the game. Although I may not be able to play the actual game, I could still see myself being able to play a modified form of the game so that I would be able to continue this occupation throughout my life.

The bats length is usually around 31-34 inches. Then the last example is that each team…

America’s pastime and the tailed off version. The similarities and differences between baseball and softball. Baseball and softball are different and similar, the most obvious ones to the common eye are baseball fields are much larger and have a minimum of 300 feet and the players pitch overhand while in softball the field is a minimum of 200 feet and the players pitch underhand. The similarities entail the general concept of the game like “three strikes you’re out” and also while hitting the players both want to make contact with the ball and the bat the exact same way because they both want a nice level line drive rather than a pop-up.…

When it comes to pitching in softball and baseball you will be able to spot the difference right away. Pitchers in baseball throw the baseball over hand while softball players throw the softball underhand. Since softball players throw softballs underhand there is a difference in the pitching rules of baseball and softball. Softball players do not a have a regulation on how many innings they can throw, while baseball players have a limit of how many innings they are allowed to throw. This rule was established because throwing overhand takes a huge toll on the arm, while throwing underhand is more of a natural motion. The similarity between these two sports is the way pitches are called, balls and strikes, and hits and walks determine both sports and the outcome in the end.…

Back in the history of soccer, women joined together from different locations in large groups to play in the “mob” games. These games were a mixture of rugby and soccer (Women’s 3). Women’s soccer informally began in 1917 when a group of women that worked at an apprentice company bragged to others that they could play the game of soccer better than the men. This created a challenge which led to a match being played. The score of the game was never released to the press, but this event led to the formation of the Dick, Kerr Ladies Team. This occurrence sparked interest in other women competing in soccer, despite creating much distraction as women rarely worked outside of their homes (Women’s 5). In the early 1930’s, countries such as France and Italy formed women’s soccer leagues. It was not until after World War II when other countries joined in and women’s soccer gained notoriety. In 1950 Italy created its national association. In 1951, the first women’s league, the Craig Club Girls Soccer League, was formed. Prior to this establishment, women participated in soccer during gym class, occasional pickup games, and sometimes intramural college competition. The Craig Club Girls Soccer League had four teams and lasted for two seasons. This occurrence was a milestone in women’s soccer (Women’s 12). During the late 1960’s numerous regional and national leagues had been organized as well as the building of club…
