Social Environment






Social environment of business means all the factors which affects business socially. Every business works in a society, so societies’ different factors like family, educational institutions and religion affects business. It includes the culture that the individual was educated or lives in, and the people with whom they interact.
The cultural factors like buying and consumption habit of the people, customs and traditions , tastes and preferences, languages etc are the factors that affect the strategy of the business.

The Nation as a definition of Society
 Similarity amongst people is a cause and effect of national boundaries.
 Nation includes subcultures, ethnic groups, races, classes.
 National Identity (certain characteristics physical, demographic and behavioral norms that may affect a company’s methods of conducting business).  Nationality is not the only basis on which to group people.
Everyone belongs to various other groups based on profession, age, religion, and place of residence.
 Country by Country has limitations because:





Not everyone in a country is alike
Variations within some countries are great
Similarities link groups from different countries.
Databases are scarce/ non reliable/ outdated.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
 Physical differences can affect business decisions such as whether and how to change a product, how high to place production machinery and which advertising message to use
(Images, Comparative Ads etc).
 Physical attributes to take into consideration are:
1. An individuals size
2. Age distribution.
