Snowball Narrative
I don't remember 100% of what happened that day, but anyway, it started when Colin, Nate (my little brothers), Max, Odis and Charlie (my friends), wanted to go have a snowball fight. I was in 5th grade at the time and they each were one grade behind the other. It was me, Max, Colin, Odis, Charlie, Nate was the youngest at 5 years old. Anyway, I wanted to find something to do besides snowboarding and riding on sleds. So, we all decided to have a snowball fight with “good snow”. In order to find the “good snow” we had to navigate our way to the very end of the forest where the snow was untouched. We got there and set up teams and started to throw the snowballs. As soon as we started the icy wind hit me like a ton of bricks falling from a ten story building. I ran next to a tree and splat! I got hit in the face with the white, fluffy, snowball. By this time my face was about to fall off because of the frigid temperature. After that we went sledding down a hill for a little bit. About ten or twenty minutes later we grabbed the sleds so we could go play a snowball fight again.
Nate told me his feet were cold and I looked down. He had his tennis shoes on. “Time to go back, Nate has his shoes on!” I yelled. Everyone groaned and we started heading back. It had to have been at least a half an hour since we had

“Carry me across,” Nate demanded of me. I told him okay, picked him up and slowly carried him across. After we were across I set him down and walked back just as being careful to only be on my toes to look for a safer way to get across. Well, long story short, there wasn't a better way across. I told them this is the only way across. We started to cross the frozen creek, CRACK Odis fell down to the hard icy floor. Not into the water though, don't worry, I helped him up and yelled RUN! I could feel the ice breaking as we were darting across it. I thought we were about to fall in when I felt the hard ground once

“Are people going to make fun of me?” “Am I going to fall?” Seated aside on the escalator with my instructor I pondered to myself “Is it too late to reconsider?” Midway through the ride to the top of the hill he told me bluntly as difficult as snowboarding seems in the beginning I would eventually get the hang of it. I didn’t bother listening to him due to my horrible thoughts drowning and repelling every sound anything made. Before I knew it I stood on the top of the hill and he told me to go down first. As embarrassing to say I never went down with a clean slide. I tripped and fell off balance as many times a clumsy 9 year old can. The kids in my group already started talking about me behind my back, ridiculing me with their cruel comments. I saw a private place where I thought no one would find me and laid down with my arms over my knees and cried my heart…

It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…

It was a cold snowy morning on the frozen shores of Lake Superior. I unloaded all of my ice fishing supplies from my truck and back my ATV out of the trailer. The ice was at least a foot thick by this time of year according to the people in town more than safe enough for the trip out on the lake. I gassed up my ATV and strapped down all my gear and headed out to my shanty. Trying to navigate in these conditions is very treacherous having only a general idea on the whereabouts of my shanty is would be difficult. Finally, the weather cleared for a few minutes allowing me to spot my shanty that was luckily still standing. I unlocked the door and fired up my ice drill which drilled through the ice like a hot knife through butter.I turned on my heater and waited for it to warm up which felt like an eternity in the frigid winter temperatures that hovered around zero and the biting wind outside made it almost unbearable. I waited for my father and his brothers to arrive with the…

The snow continued throughout the rest of the day and the next day. The following day once it stopped snowing my dad had an idea that we take some sleds and go on top of a hill and ride down it. We snowshoed to the top of the hill and we saw some deer, birds, raccoons on the way. Once we were at the top we tried to sled down but it wasn't steep enough to sled down and we got upset. We walked back home. Then a few hours later it was finally time to have thanksgiving dinner there was, a turkey, stuffing, steamed carrots and it was…

I remember reaching the top of the hill with a very excited feeling. As I got to the top, the instructor at the top helped me off the chair. I waited for the other instructor to explain how I control my movements. While he was talking, all I thought about was hitting a tree and embarrassing myself. I just stood there looking at his red nose and chapped lips. He finally said something I found useful, he told me to lean whichever way I wanted to steer. After he finished explaining, I just went down that big hill of snow.…
