Sliced Bread Persuasive Speech
The Greatest Thing since Sliced Bread
Announcer on TV: Welcome to the show, today we have a very interesting topic to discuss. All we hear these days on the topic of global warming is how horrible it is and how we need to unite as a collective people in order to save our planet but we have taken a few steps back from the whole situation and thought quite seriously about it. I’m here to tell you that it’s time to put your fears about global warming to rest because honestly, global warming isn’t such a bad thing.
Announcer on TV: We all know that global warming will, obviously, warm the world up. If that happens, we won’t have to heat our houses because global warming will be doing it for us. Not only will it save homeowners and businesses money but we will also be using less natural gas that can be saved for use in other ways. Also, power plants won’t have to produce as much electricity due to the fact that again, we won’t need to heat our house nearly as much as we do now. Let’s take Julie for example. Julie always has her heater running in her house and work place because it’s so cold all the time but with global warming she can save a ton of money by turning off that heater!

I’m gonna drive my car everywhere! I’ll never walk anywhere again!

Announcer on TV: That’s a fantastic idea, Julie! Now, another reason global warming can be great is with the polar ice caps and the icebergs melting, the North and South Pole will become less populated with animals and will most likely become more livable so the human race can continue to expand and pollute. And to anyone who is sad for the dying polar bears because of the melting ice caps, let’s face it; we all know that polar bears are mean and cruel animals. Dan has been to the South Pole. Dan will you tell the people your story?
Dan: The South Pole is a horrible place, its cold and the only thing there is ice and useless

This article explains how climate change has been rapidly melting the Arctic over the course of a few years. As a result, the faster the arctic melts the more damage will be done to the ecosystem, planet, and humans. A few examples of how drastically climate change has shaped the North are that the sea ice covering the Arctic Ocean began to decrease in size when it should have been increasing in size. Also, temperatures at the North Pole rose more than 20 degrees Celsius. These changes are causing polar bears to randomly stroll the shorelines of Hudson Bay in order to wait for the water to freeze. Researchers predicted by the year 2030 the Arctic may lose all of the ice. As a result, no ice in the arctic means ecosystems will be affected badly,…

Imagine that you trained all your life for that special moment of playing in your first NHL game. At the beginning of your first shift in the game suddenly another player’s stick comes up and strikes you in the eye. This incident ends your career. This could have been prevented if you wore a visor. I think visors should be mandatory in the NHL in order to improve a player’s safety. Statistics have proven players who wear visors in the NHL play less aggressive. There are many incidents involving sticks and pucks going into player’s faces. A recent incident occurred between Philadelphia’s Chris Pronger and Toronto’s Mikhail Grabovski. Furthermore, two years ago a former NHL player Brad May, Gave a speech supporting the use of visors.…

In the news clip from Cbs 60 minutes “Global Warning”, we hear about 21% of greenhouse gases from the U.S. are contributing to the warming of the whole globe. They also talked about how the population in the number of polar bears there are in the north is going down tremendously. Within time they will be extinct due to the fact that they can’t hunt seals on the ice for as long a period as they could before, because winter is going by quicker and quicker each year. They are spending less time on the ice than they are on land and for that reason the polar bears are becoming unhealthy, which causes them to produce unhealthy cubs. The North Pole has been frozen for more than 100 years and thanks to us that statement is becoming less and less true every day. The U.S. and Australia are the only continents that haven’t signed on to the bill proposing to emit the amount of greenhouse gases we produce each day.…

I believe it is global warming, although some might debate my beliefs. I believe that the rapid change in temperatures caused by the increase of C02 Admisions is rapidly raising the temperatures of the polar bears habitat. Some argue that, we have only tracked a 1 degree temperature change throughout the earth, that is a mere change that would not send the ice melting so fast, but with some further reaserach i found that a 1 degree temperature change, is almost like a 12 degree temperature rise in the norh pole! That is definatly taking its effect on the residents that reside here.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…

PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE SAMPLE - MOTIVATED SEQUENCE PATTERN By Fui Oili (with modifications made by S. Pastor) TITLE: Vacation in Hawaii GENERAL PURPOSE: To persuade SPECIFIC PURPOSE (GOAL): To persuade my audience to choose to take a vacation to the neighbor islands before taking a vacation out of the state or country. GENERAL IDEA: Visitors come from all over the world to experience the beauty and adventure of Hawaii. However, many local residents haven’t had the opportunity to experience all that our islands have to offer. Instead of always travelling to the mainland for vacations, Hawaii residents should first experience the uniqueness of vacationing right here on a neighbor island. INTRODUCTION (Attention Step) I. (Attention getter): Over the PA system the agent announced the arrival of United flight 93 arriving from Los Angeles, California. I waited at the baggage claim entrance where I stood there holding my lei and sign with the names of the visitors I was to greet from their flight. As the people started to flow out of the doors I called out, “Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams”, all the while thinking about what I was going to cook for dinner and wondering what my kids were doing. When the visitors finally arrived, I was quickly brought back to my reality as I greeted each one with a lei and I said, “Aloha, welcome to Kauai.” With excited smiles on their faces they thanked me and told me how excited they were to be in Hawaii and how they couldn’t wait to start their vacation. The thing that really hit me was when they said, “You are so lucky you live in Hawaii!” Immediately I was reminded of how true that statement is. It’s ironic that it took a visitor from another part of the world to remind me that yes, Hawaii is an amazing place to explore, even for those of us who already live here. (Reveal Topic): This morning, I’d like to encourage all of you to seriously consider taking your next vacation on any of our Hawaiian islands instead of travelling out of…

We can define it as an increase of the average temperature of Earth 's atmosphere and oceans. We really should be aware about this and be more thoughtful on this subject, we do not reason on what happened and we are more neglected throwing garbage and not taking care of the environment.…

Many scientists believe that Global warming will have a massive effect on the climate and weather on our planet. This could happen one of two ways. The first is that an increase in temperature will cause polar ice caps to melt. If the Earth 's major ice caps were to melt, sea level would be raised anywhere from 7-14 meters (Ramanathan, 4). This would result in severe flooding. For example, the entire bottom section of Florida would disappear completely. A second way Global Warming could turn is that a temperature increase will cause evaporation and clouding, which would lower the earth 's temperature and eventually result in an ice age(Ramanathan, 5). If either of these scenarios were to occur, the repercussions would be tragic to the entire planet and everything living on it.…
