Skin Cancer Essay
The body is combined of more than millions of cells. Cancer starts from defects or mutation in DNA of one cell or a slight number of cells. Mutations can happen by chance when a cell is dividing, or by chemicals from outside of the body such as skin lotion or ultraviolet. In addition, skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cell which has many stages, and it may spread to other organs.
As skin cancer cells grow, they can group together to form a tumor. It may take months or years to form a tumor and for the tumor to be noticeable. The cancer cell can multiply by about 30 or more, although the tumor is very small. There are two type of tumors. The tumor sends signals to the nearby blood vessel. These signals make the blood vessel to create a new vessel toward the tumor. With blood supply giving the tumor oxygen and nutrients, now have the ability grow faster. Furthermore, the tumor can breakdown go travel through the blood vessel which makes the tumor more fatal and deadly.
Skin cancer has stages that refer to where the cancer has reached. In stage 0, the skin cancer discovered in this stage is found in the epidermis (upper layer in the skin). In stage I and II, the skin cancer may be almost two centimeters and it hasn’t spread to other parts of the body. In Stage III, the skin cancer starts to metastasize and spread into facial bones and nearby lymph nodes, but not to other organs in the body. In the last stage, the cancer can be of any size and may have spread to bones and other organs.
