|
Leading in Modern day South African can be a daunting and challenging task. Numerous challenges face South African leaders that many will find intolerable. This chapter deals with the challenges that leaders face in the South African environment, as well as the characteristics an excellent leader should possess. Leadership is no walk on the park; it takes sacrifice, willpower, fortitude and perseverance. Moreover, good leaders may not always deliver good results in terms of standard business metrics. Leadership is about meaning, not just about the bottom line.
