Sir Thomas More: A Perfect Utopian Society

The perfect Utopia that Sir Thomas More had created had many things about it that made it seem excellent in all ways, but could too much good be bad. Yes, at first the customs of the Utopian society seem harmless, but a perfect society is dangerous. Although I think a perfect Utopian society is dangerous, I believe some of their customs could be useful in our life’s today. Customs like their marriage and divorce terms, occupational workload, Utopian culture, and even some views on Euthanasia. In todays society I personally believe that the amount of work put in by the Utopians towards progress and intelligence who immensely help our current society. Our current society is mainly focused on goofing off and lazy relaxing ways. Don’t get me wrong our society has made many discoveries and amazing advancements in society, but it is not near what we could have accomplished. Our society today is okay will allowing those who are
Our society should be more concerned with gardening and other fun, active and useful activities. A sad fact about our society is that people actually die from obesity, that the term “couch potato” is an actual thing. If our society today was half as progressive as the Utopian societies I believe our medical advances, technology advances would be insane. One of the most helpful things about the Utopian society is that not really anyone’s relies on the government for assistance. And last but not least, death with dignity, I personally agree with the Utopian societies view on euthanasia. Our modern society does not believe in euthanasia and I do not understand how we can think it is better to watch people suffer and die slowly. If a person is on their death bed due to incurable illness they should be given a way out, a peaceful comforting alternative. And I am aware that we have pain medicines that help keep them comfortable on their death bed, but its not
