There are similarities between Syrian refugees and the Jewish people during World War 2. Kristof discusses the political and social actions the United States took in order to block how many refugees are allowed to come to America and how the average person viewed these refugees. The general population often had negative emotions and views towards these people because of the media. The general idea that fear of refugees often outweighs sympathy.
