Two football players, Shawn Grim and Rudy Ruettiger both had a dream that they had to work for in order for it to become reality. Ruettiger’s dream was to play football at Notre Dame. Nobody thought that he could do it, but he proves them wrong. Grim was a high school football player who’s dream was to get a high school diploma and go to college, unlike any of his family members. Rudy and Shawn needed to overcome many obstacles, but with their determination they achieved their goals.
Both of the young men didn’t have support from their families. Ruettiger was often told that he was a dreamer, that some people just weren’t meant

Back in my high school years, one of my good friends, Anthony Wilkerson, had earned a full-ride scholarship to Stanford University, thanks to his solid GPA and superior skills on the football field. He had been on the bench for most of his freshman season, but this year, he was set to get more carries, more yards and, hopefully, more touchdowns. My girlfriend had a close friend, named Karen, who was accepted into the University of Southern California. Ever since she received her acceptance letter, Karen vowed to invite us to go see a game at the Coliseum with her. As fate would have it, that same year, Stanford and USC were set to square off in Los Angeles! It was as if the universe had aligned itself perfectly for me. The College Football Gods had sown the seeds and I was about to reap from the glorious harvest.…

The Disney Dreamers Academy is a four day weekend in Walt Disney World where 100 selected high school students around the nation participate in various workshops and sessions hosted by a variety of celebrities and Disney employees. I discovered the program online while trying to look for internship opportunities offered at the Walt Disney Company. Among the more than 10,000…
