Should Students Get Paid For Good Grades
CASH FOR GRADES

Wouldn’t you love to have your teacher pay you for an A on that test. Although some people would see this as a bad idea, it would help students a lot with their school work. Let’s face it, kids love money. So that would lead them to want to do some things to earn money. If students earned money for good grades they would be more focused on getting good grades then they would without being paid. The grade average for the school would show amazing results which would show how much more work students would be putting in to get good grades. It would also give students a reward for working hard and behaving well. It would get students to go to school more often and give them a better ethic to work. So students should get paid on good grades.

Some can’t even afford their own lunch. If students got paid for their good grades that could help the kids who are poor and could help them afford lunch, clothes, school supplies, or, anything else that could help them. In recent years the topic of college football players being paid has been widely discussed, but in reality the fact that this is even a discussion is just ridiculous. College football isn't a job, it is an extracurricular activity students can take part in while in college. Behind this common idea is college football players already are being seen as more privileged and that is not fair to other students and paying college football players will increase that perception. Also if the college football players were paid there must be an organized plan in terms of the pay structure it would it be fairly determined in terms of how to pay the football players and seeing if certain players get paid more than others. Most importantly is the immaturity…

With credibility (his job as a professor) considered, and also logical and emotional approaches throughout, you can see that Vogel is passionate about the topic at hand. Vogel uses very well described, and easy-to-follow examples and stories that intrigues you to “open your eyes” per say, and realize what exactly what your true motive is in school; is it to make yourself better and gain as much knowledge as possible, or is it just to simply stay afloat financially, and use the most minimal effort possible in receiving your appropriate grade. Although Vogel effectively makes his point, and delivers it in a way that college students like me can fully understand, there wasn’t a sufficient solution to this epidemic that he perceives is going on in this grading system world, which makes his position on this topic slightly less effective than what it could’ve been if he had provided an adequate solution. All in all, Vogel’s take on the relationship between grades and money is clear, cut, and very self-explanatory through reading. “We let grades count as money---we let education count as money---because money, nowadays, is the only value we…

For many students, the college experience is measured by the success of their NCAA-sanctioned athletic programs. Without the experience and athletic performance the student athlete brings, most colleges would not reap the benefit of these significant revenue-generating activities. At best, current NCAA regulations need to be revisited to ensure all avenues are addressed to enable the success of athletic students both in the classroom and on the field or court of play. As stated previously, even though students receive full and partial scholarships determined by their athletic performance, in both instances financial hardship is still experienced by many. Since the various professional sports’ programs reap the conditioning and experience of college student athletes, sponsorship initiatives should be pursued to allow student athletes some form of payment without creating additional outlays for colleges and universities.…

The program alone makes the playing field for all kids more equal in my opinion and kids don’t have to worry about being bullied also because their parents are poor. I’ve seen in school where kids get picked on because they received reduced or free lunches, this would eliminate that by making it all free for everyone.…

The NCAA makes an estimate of nine hundred and eighty nine million dollars annually. The NCAA is able to make this gigantic profit while paying its employees absolutely nothing. If this situation would happen with a large employer paying its employees nothing, the company would get into serious legal trouble. However, since they are college athletes, society thinks it is okay. While many people say that receiving an education is enough of a privilege and paying college athletes would ruin the spirit of the game, college athletes should nevertheless be able to use their names for monetary gain because, everyone else in the business gets paid, college athletes train like professional athletes and athletes produce millions for their college but are paid nothing.…
