Should Miss Clare Be Taught In School Essay
She’s horrible! She’s the worst teacher I’ve ever had. Miss Clare should be fired! There are three main reasons for my thoughts; her personal life, her unprofessional dress, and her behavior in the classroom.
I’m surprised she hasn’t already been fired, just because of her personal life. Weekly, Miss Clare walks into class and asks us how we like the latest thing she stole from the shopping mall. We all wonder how she hasn’t been caught yet, and how the principal hasn’t found out about her illegal activities outside of the classroom. She constantly tells us there is nothing wrong in taking things that aren’t yours if you’re too poor to buy it yourself. On top of that, Miss Clare comes in on most Mondays drunker than a barstool bum. I don’t know how she is even able to drive to school without killing herself or someone else. When she sits in her chair at her desk she can barely keep from falling out of it. The principal must know about her drunken Mondays.

I have never seen her wear a blouse that goes to her knees. I don’t know how she even fits into them without popping a button or splitting the back in half. She also tends to show more cleavage than a teenage hoe, but none of these things seem to bother most guys. Whenever she asks a question, they just sit there with their mouths open drooling like a bunch of dogs. Additionally, she always comes in with messy and greasy hair; a major turnoff for guys. Who wants to date a girl who doesn’t even wash or brush her hair? I guess that is why she’s 28 and isn’t married. Like she needs anything else to make her look worse, she wears dark make and way too much cheap perfume! Everyone knows how bad B.O. and perfume smell when mixed together. I wander how she dressed for the interview that got her this

The third observation was during language arts and reading period. The students were reviewing subject and predicate using sentences from a workbook. Mrs. Yglesias would copy a sentence from the workbook onto the pyrethrum board. Then she would choose a student to read the sentence and select the subject. Straightaway, she would underline the student’s answer on the board with a red marker. Subsequently, the teacher would choose a different student to reread the sentence and identify the predicate. Again, immediately the teacher would double underline the predicate of the sentence on the board with a green marker. Mrs. Yglesias once more used the tactics of alternating ELL students and English speakers to participate answering questions. The…

Fiona Hall (b.1953) is an Australian photographer and sculptor renowned for her post modern techniques involving histories of language, gender politics, the body the domestic and the everyday, colonisation and the current state of the environment. Hall creates art works that are metaphors for the messages she explores. She began her art practice in the 1970s when the conventions of modern art were being radically challenged. Hall’s art practice deals with society and culture and increasingly how we as humans are impacting upon the natural world. Her work is often extremely detailed and her ideas and thinking multi-faceted and complex. Hall’s passion towards the environment is clearly displayed through each of her works which confront an array of issues concerning the environment. Leaf litter (2000) clearly represents how plants may be seen as something disposable but are actually valuable and have contributed to the growth of many economies. Cell culture (2002) questions the role of natural science and the way societies have viewed the natural world. Medicine Bundles for the unborn child (1994) is different from Hall’s other works as it represents how western civilisation (including children) now depend on these types of products to function…

Once again, I was placed in Mrs.Metcalfe who teaches second grade at Bens Branch Elementary. Mrs.Metcalfe took attendance while the students waited patiently on the carpet. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

    Dbq Essay On Jane Eyre

Bronte demonstrates her stance on feminism by creating characters that defy the stereotypical ideal woman during the Victorian era. Jane’s characterization opposed many desired virtues of the Victorian era because the ideal woman at the time was docile and selflessly devoted to her family as demonstrated in Patmore’s poem which reads, “ Man must be pleased, but him to please/ Is woman’s pleasure.” (Document E) As opposed to the character of Jane Eyre portrayed as a strong, stubborn woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and has control of her own choices. Since she has no familial male figures present in her life, Jane has the opportunity to make autonomous decisions on what she wants, contradicting the standard rule of male ownership of…

One way that Miss Moore shows that she is a caring person, is by showing how dedicated she is to he job. “She’d been to college and said it was the only right that she should take responsibility for the young ones’ education, and she not even related by marriage or blood.” This quote shows that she cares about the children’s future. Most teachers just teach to get paid and that’s it. But that’s not the story with Miss Moore she has gone to college, and now she gets paid good money for what she does and she wants to pass that down to the kids, because the kids right now are poor and live in the slums ( except for Mercedes). Junebug doesn’t even have a desk and Flyboy doesn’t even have a home to go to. So even though Miss Moore is not related to the kids by blood or marriage she still wants the kids to achieve in life just like she did. “And school suppose to let up in summer I heard, but she don't never let up. And the starch in my pinafore scratching the shit outta me and I'm really hating this nappy-head bitch and her goddamn college degree. I'd much rather go to the pool or to the show where it's cool.” This quote shows that Miss Moore really wants them to succeed in life because, she is teaching them in the summer when they should be out having fun and not thinking about school. If she didn’t care about their education she would just let them have fun in the summer, but instead she s out in the summer trying to teach them a very important lesson.…

Significant experiences in people’s lives provide opportunities for growth and development. Going ‘into the world’ means moving from familiar experiences to new horizons. When going from familiar experiences to new ones, obstacles are usually overcome before being totally successful. Individuals might be given advice and/or guided through the transformation to reaching new horizons. Great rewards and opportunities also come about while going through the process of growth and development. The script of Educating Rita, by Willy Russel, about the transformation of a woman going into the world, is great proof for the persuasion of the statement, as well as a visual text from the Sunday telegraph called, Two Boys in Redfern.…

Her name was Sherri Sparling. Mrs. Sparling was in most of my classes to help me. In my English class, I remembered we had to read “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne I thought it was the hardest book ever to read that was until Mrs. Sparling began to read to me. She would read it as if she was the charters in the book making it feel more alive. What is a qualified teacher to you? According to the public school system they must a bachelor's degree, completion of a teacher education program supervised teaching experience, and the completion of basic writing and math skills tests. Personally, I feel as if this is not enough to be a qualified teacher. Teachers should be relatable or appealing to their students, by making teachers act in the best interest of the students would not only help the teachers, but help the students understand that the teachers are here to help them better their lives. Teachers should also know how to make more learning styles available for students basic off their needs. This would also mean having more teachers to teach basic off the needs and smaller classrooms. Making the classrooms smaller would help make a strong discipline system if needed. “‘At-risk’ is edu-code: it most often means the students in question are poor, minority, have chaotic home lives, are likely to drop out.” Quindlen (57). A good example of what the teachers and the education systems should…

    Pet Peeves

One of my biggest pet peeves is teachers who disregard the fact that the student is also a human being and abuse their authority. My seventh grade teacher could have written a book on how to abuse authority and belittle her students. She said from my inability to walk on a line in the hallway to the cafeteria that it would assure my failure in later life. She told me my charisma would only take me so and that if I wanted to be any type o success in life I should drop out and learn a trade. But as we can see I didn’t fail and my future is looking quite bright. But she made me hate teachers like her and made it one of my pet peeves to not avoid teachers like her.…

    Teacher of Year Essay

First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have…
