Should Kids Get Paid For Chores Essay
Getting paid for chores?
Trinity cooper

Do you get paid for doing chores? If not seat down and talk to your parents like I did. If you're a normal kid like me I bet you would love to get paid for the time you waste doing chores around the house that's taking away time to hang out with your friends and to do your school work. I have three main reasons why kids should get paid for chores.
My first main reason is getting paid for chores will make you want to do more than what you already do. Forinstance megan in the article makes her bed and dose a couple little things and she told her mother if she was to get paid she would set the plate, do laundry and many more than what she already does. This could help parents in many different ways. Some of those ways are giving them a break after what all they did that day so they don't have to come home and clean the whole house and it's also kinda doing

In the letter megans mom wrote for her she stated that seeing the smile of your parents when you clean the house should be the best reward you can get, but children think otherwise.
The issue in this argument is rather or not us kids should get paid for all the hard work that we do all the time around the house. It is about a mother and daughter arguing over if we should get paid for chores.
Another big reason I think we should get paid for chores is we don't have to ask you for money too go places. On the other hand if we got paid for chores we could save up are money for the things we want or when we wanna go places with friends. Now we don't have to ask you 24/7 for different amounts of money.
The three reasons I listed above are why i think us kids should get paid for the work we do around the house all the time and why its such a good idea. If you're a parent and you're reading this I encourage you to pay your children to do those not very fun

Sure, the idea of earning money for a grade sound fantastic, but what does it really do for a person. When students earn cash for their good grades, many quickly lose interest in the subject they earned the money for. Once the deed is done there is no longer a need to retain the information. This is an easy way to set your student up for a roller coaster ride of grades. A child performs well in class, earns the good grade and is paid cash for a job well done, this is when a student stops performing at a top-notch level. After this happens a grade is dropped to a point where a cash reward is no longer in the picture. That is when a student starts working harder in class. Consequently leaving them with the idea that the only reason to earn a good grade is to earn cash. Thus, never instilling the idea that a good grade is a reward within itself.…

It is common knowledge that household chores such as doing the dishes, cleaning rooms, throwing the garbage are not really entertaining activities to the majority of people, especially to children. That is why some parents who are totally aware of the power of the influence of money, expect that allowance relied to chores can be a productive way not only to incite children to do the chores but also to teach them the value of money and hard work. However, the negative influences that money can bring make parents doubt to this method. Although some people claim that children should be paid for doing chores, it is my contention that paying them leads to slippery slope effects.…

I believe that parents can make more money and bring more prosperity for the whole family if they both work. As a result, parents can now afford to send their children to better schools. For example parents can now afford to send their children to language schools which is a result of good family financial condition, or even enroll their child in extra curriculum such as after school programs/clubs. Another advantage of this situation is that children can mentally learn that work is an important part of life.…
