Shaun of the Dead

The film Shaun of the Dead is a British zombie flick filled with comedy, romance, and horror. It is an original piece, directed by Edgar Wright and co-star Simon Pegg, which uses irony throughout the entire movie. Many critics think of the movie as a British comedy but I believe it is much more than that. I believe the cast was appropriately chosen for this movie. The main character is Shaun, Simon Pegg, who's an irresponsible young man who just wants to have fun without any responsibility. He is accompanied by his best friend Ed, Nick Frost, who is a slacker and moocher, but adds much of the humor to the film. Another main character is Liz, Kate Ashfield, who is Shaun's girlfriend.

We see this through all the trials that Shaun encounters. These trials include losing his parents to the brain-hungry zombies which in turn motivates Shaun to take matters into his own hands. At one point, Shaun is dumped by his girlfriend Liz. He then realizes he needs to grow up and show that he really cares about others, especially his girlfriend. Another trial Shaun encounters is when his best friend is attacked by the zombies. In his losses, Shaun believes he will never see Ed again. In the end, Shaun gains back his girlfriend and saves his best …show more content…
The soundtrack was impressive and gave suspense and drama as where needed. The special FX was up to date and gave a realistic feel to the movie. The cinematography is what brought this film's ratings up in my opinion. I really like the irony in the lightning, Especially Pegg's use of zoom-ins and quick cuts… hilarious. Also, the camera angles of when Ed drives himself and Shaun to his parent's house dodging zombies left and right was also very entertaining. I believe I almost jumped out of my seat in fright when Ed hit the lurking zombie speeding down the

The sound design is most evident in the beginning when Casey is opening the box. You can hear the iconic sounds of legos smashing together, as well as the very satisfying sounds of a metal key hitting the wood box. The rustling of paper as he is looking through all of the memories was also nice and clear. The sound of the typewriter writing was also very well done throughout the entire piece. Lastly, the score really complements the action on screen. It has an inspiring, curious, and sad mood all at the same time. Even more so, the score gets out of the way of the dialogue when it needs to, so that you can focus on the story.…

It shows great action and the camera shots shows great details and information. The sound effects and music are perfect and goes great with the movie. The background building and props are well made. This movie is the best transformers movie the people will see. There was some others transformers made which are pretty good, but they will like this one better. This movie gives excitement and sad moments it has little of every genre in it. This movie showed a lot of emotion between the robots and humans. If the audience likes action movies with a little romance in it I would suggest them to watch Transformers Age Of…

The basic argument of the film Beetlejuice is that death is scary, confusing, gruesome, and not as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be. This movie also emphasizes how personal death is, going as far as to verbally portraying while the Maitlands are in the social work office. Death is portrayed as a confusing difficult time, but it can be dealt with. This movie also makes a case for the fake that death does not necessarily lead to a miserable existence. Much like life, it has to do with perspective and personal choices. (Bender, Hashimoto, Wilson, & Burton, 1988) This movie is a satirical representation on how death is currently being viewed versus how death should be viewed.…

    The Boy Film Analysis

It had all the elements of a classic horror story. The babysitter alone in a big creepy house without any neighbors or communication from the outside world and then you've got this supposedly inanimate object which begs the question is she really alone in the house? The first half of the movie is a little slow as we follow-up on how crazy the Heelshire's are and get the back story of Braums as well as Greta as we try to figure out what she's running from. The movie doesn't pick up until Greta realizes that Braums is moving about on his own...but even then it doesn't really go where we think it's going to go. First comes panic, then fear, then fascination...then things really get weird when Greta's ex boyfriend Cole; Ben Robson (Dracula: The Dark Prince) makes his way into the picture. There are no jump factors here, the only scene that really gives you a scare is when Greta is staring at Braums in the family portrait and it suddenly comes to life but that's something you can see just from watching the trailer. There is a crazy twist at the end that was actually kind of disappointing for me and raised more questions than answers. The camera work at the end was confusing there was a chase scene but with the sudden different angles poor lighting it's hard to tell who was chasing…

The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is a sequel, to a prequel, to a reboot, of The Planet of the Apes franchise (get all that?). The original Planet of the Apes movie released in 1968 was directed by Franklin J. Schaffner, about how in the future humans were replaced by apes as top dog on earth, and humans were stooped down to wild dumb animals like apes used to be. This film was rebooted twice, the second reboot being a prequel to how apes ended up taking over called Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a sequel to Rise, and takes place in a time where humans have been infected with a disease called simian flu, which causes the human population to quickly decline. Only a small fraction of the population still exists,…

Many would say I am absolutely insane, but I am a rare individual who unforntuanately did not listen to the Beatles growing up. After watching A Hard Day's Night, I instantly fell in awe and definiely understand how one would have Bealtmania. The charm, humor, and shaggy hair cuts instantly drew me in. I felt as if I were a British teenage girl living in the 1960s and wildy chasing my beloved boyband crush. The movie is full of Rock n' Roll musical outbreaks, innocent fun, and a very clean and nice old man. A Hard Day's Night seems to mimic and portray as a documentary but instead is wonderful comedy that displays what a typical day would be like for the Fab Four.…

In the movie “Dawn of the Dead” there are four main characters Fran, Steve, Roger and Peter. This movie is a very over the top, gory, supernatural film created by George A. Romero. Zombies start to take over the world and whet they crave is human flesh. “Dawn of the Dead” is not like any other zombie films, it puts the watchers of this movie in the place of the characters played in this movie. The sudden question that hovers over anyone’s mind during this movie is “What would I do?” during this zombie apocalypse that the people are facing throughout this movie three main factors stand out whether feminism is an issue, how social values stand and whether the news media still stand strong in this abnormal predicament.…
